Why Your Training Platform Choice Matters
Most growing companies run four kinds of training on one platform: onboarding for new hires, compliance courses with certificates that expire, skills development, and product training for customers, partners or the sales team. A platform that is strong at one can be weak at the others, and the pricing model can change the bill more than the list price.
The seven tools here range from an $8 per active user plan you can start today to starting prices of $8,000 a year, or no number at all until a sales call. We compare them on the jobs you need done, how users are counted and billed, which plan carries the AI features, HRIS and SSO integrations, content libraries and implementation.
All prices and features come from vendor pricing and product pages, checked in October 2026. "Billed annually" means the monthly equivalent of a yearly payment. We did not test these platforms hands-on; where a vendor page leaves something unclear, we say so.

360Learning review
Overview
360Learning is built around collaborative learning: subject experts co-author courses, and learners upvote, comment and ask questions in course forums. For a growing company with no instructional designers, the people who know the process can build the training. It is our top pick because the Team plan pairs that approach with the clearest entry pricing here: $8 per active user per month, billed monthly, the same price for learners, authors and admins, no setup fees and a 30-day free trial. Business and Enterprise give you somewhere to go when you outgrow the 100-user cap.
Key features
- Co-authoring and course forums on all plans
- AI-assisted authoring: courses from documents, AI outlines and quizzes, on all plans
- SCORM player, plus PDF and video uploads
- Instructor-led and virtual sessions, blended paths with automated certifications
- Groups with auto-enrolment by role or location, and delegated permissions
Pricing
- Team: $8 per active user per month, billed monthly, up to 100 users, cancel anytime. Self-guided implementation with async resources and monthly group onboarding sessions. Add-ons cost $2 per user per month each: Coaching, Live, Globalization and Extended Academies.
- Business: custom price, generally annual. Adds AI-driven skills-based learning, advanced analytics, licensing for internal and external learners, and HRIS/HCM, content library and e-commerce integrations.
- Enterprise: custom price. Adds premium onboarding, account management and a priority SLA.
A user counts as active from account creation until you delete or deactivate them, so deactivate leavers to keep the bill down. The Team plan page lists the Zoom and Microsoft Teams connection under the paid Live add-on. After a Team cancellation, data is kept 120 days, then deleted.
Pros
- Public, self-serve price with no minimum and no setup fee
- One price for every role, so authors and admins cost no more than learners
- AI authoring and gamification on the entry plan
- Clear path to Business and Enterprise with HRIS and external-learner licensing
Cons
- Team is capped at 100 users
- HRIS/HCM and content library integrations start at Business
- Each add-on adds $2 per user per month
- The pricing table marks SSO and Teams/Zoom with an asterisk it does not explain
Who should use it
Companies of roughly 20 to 100 learners that want to start now, pay monthly and have managers and experts build the training themselves, with a route to an enterprise contract later.
Who should skip it
Teams that need HRIS sync or an off-the-shelf course library on day one (both start at Business). At 100 users, TalentLMS costs less.
TalentLMS review
Overview
TalentLMS has the most complete public price list in this group and the only forever-free plan. It covers the basics well on every plan: SCORM, xAPI and cmi5, certifications, gamification and native mobile apps with offline access. The catch is that key onboarding features sit on higher tiers: learning paths start at Grow and automations at Pro.
Key features
- Unlimited courses and storage on paid plans (600 MB per file)
- SCORM 1.2, xAPI and cmi5 on all plans
- Quizzes, surveys, assignments and custom certificates
- Branches for separate departments or client portals
- SSO (SAML 2.0, LDAP, OpenID Connect) and an API on all paid plans
Pricing
Annual billing saves at least 20% (20% to 27% depending on the bracket). Prices by bracket:
- Free: 5 users, 10 courses, 100 MB per file, no time limit.
- Core: $119/month billed annually ($1,428/year) or $149 billed monthly for 1-40 users; $159 billed annually for 41-70; $219 billed annually ($2,628/year) for 71-100. 1 branch, no learning paths or automations.
- Grow: from $229/month billed annually ($2,748/year) or $299 billed monthly for 1-70 users, up to $369 billed annually for 401-500. 3 branches, 5 learning paths, custom reports, AI test creation.
- Pro: from $449/month billed annually ($5,388/year) or $579 billed monthly for 1-100 users, up to $779 billed annually for 801-1,000. Unlimited learning paths, automations, AI Coach, AI translation, Skills.
- Enterprise: contact sales, from 1,000 users.
TalentLibrary (1,000+ ready-made courses) is a paid add-on on every plan, for example $32/month billed annually on Core 1-40. Nonprofits get 20% off annual plans.
Pros
- Free plan with no time limit
- Every bracket price is published
- SSO on all paid plans
- Lowest cost here at 100 users on Pro
Cons
- Core has no learning paths or automations
- Bracket jumps mean adding one user can raise the price
- The pricing page does not say whether brackets count registered or active users
- Onboarding packages come with annual billing only
Who should use it
Small and growing companies that want to try before paying and prefer a fixed monthly bill. Pro is the plan to compare for structured onboarding.
Who should skip it
Teams where many people author courses together. TalentLMS has discussions, but its design is admin-built courses rather than expert co-authoring.
Docebo review
Overview
Docebo is an enterprise learning platform for training employees, customers and partners at scale, with a deep AI toolset. It says it is best suited to 250+ learners, and most customers sign 3 to 5 year contracts. No prices are published.
Key features
- SCORM 1.2 and 2004, xAPI and AICC
- Certification and compliance tracking, admin and workflow automation
- AI assistant and AgentHub for custom AI agents
- Extended enterprise for external audiences (paid add-on on Elevate, included for up to 10 domains on Enterprise)

Pricing
Two tiers, both by quote, priced by active users under a model you choose: monthly, yearly or registered active users.
- Elevate: up to 4 included integrations, with Advanced Analytics, a branded app and Extended Enterprise as paid add-ons.
- Enterprise: adds advanced analytics, up to 6 integrations, extended enterprise for up to 10 domains, two sandboxes, a branded app and a dedicated database.
The minimum contract is one year. Setup fees "depend": they may be included for simple deployments but are often scoped as extra. Extra users are charged, and Docebo suggests upgrading at about 30% overage. AI content creation and Roleplay use AI credits.
Pros
- The widest AI feature set in this group
- Flexible user models to fit seasonal or external audiences
- Extended enterprise for up to 10 domains on Enterprise
- 400+ integrations
Cons
- No public prices, no free trial found
- Multi-year contracts are the norm
- Many capabilities are paid add-ons (eCommerce, Communities, content library, Salesforce and Teams apps)
Who should use it
Mid-size and large companies with 250+ learners and both internal and external audiences, with budget for a multi-year contract.
Who should skip it
Teams under 250 learners, or anyone who needs a price this quarter without a sales cycle.
Trainual review
Overview
Trainual is closer to a playbook tool than a classic LMS. You document processes and policies, assign them by role, and track who has read, passed tests on and signed them. It says it is best suited to companies with 25 to 1,000 employees.
Key features
- AI-assisted documentation: describe a process and get an editable draft
- AI-powered knowledge search with Q&A, and AI quizzes from your content
- Roles and responsibilities builder, org chart from Pro
- Policy e-signatures (300 a year on Pro, unlimited on Premium)
- 500+ templates, screen recording and in-app translation
Pricing
Four tiers (Core, Pro, Premium, Enterprise), all quote only. SCORM storage starts at Pro (5 GB), SSO at Premium, and API access at Enterprise. Core and Pro include custom fonts and styles; Premium adds your logo and brand colors. The pricing FAQ says every new customer pays a one-time $1,000 implementation fee. A library of 400+ expert-built courses is a paid add-on.
Pros
- HRIS and payroll integrations from the entry plan
- Strong for SOPs, role clarity and policy sign-off
- Implementation support on every plan
- SOC 2 Type 2 certified
Cons
- No public pricing and no self-serve trial
- SSO only from Premium
- SCORM only from Pro
- $1,000 implementation fee
Who should use it
Service, field and multi-location businesses whose onboarding is mostly "how we do things here" and who want those processes documented and assigned by role.
Who should skip it
Teams that need a course-based LMS with learning paths, instructor-led sessions and SCORM on the entry tier.
Litmos review
Overview
Litmos describes itself as designed for mid-market and enterprise organizations. It publishes starting prices, which is more than most vendors at this level do, and it is strong on compliance: certifications, automated compliance workflows, e-signatures and audit readiness.
Key features
- Upload SCORM, xAPI and AICC content on all plans
- Native SCORM authoring from Platinum
- Assessments, e-signatures, surveys and enrollment approvals (full on Platinum)
- Branded portals, multi-tenant setup and custom domains from Platinum
- 50+ tools out of the box; Salesforce is not included on Foundation and only partial on Platinum and Platinum AI
Pricing
- Foundation: starting at $8K per year. SSO, roles and teams, content upload, standard reporting.
- Platinum: starting at $15K per year. Adds multi-audience setup, SCORM authoring, assessments and compliance, dashboards, gamification and integrations.
- Platinum AI: talk to sales. Adds learning paths, ILT/vILT and mobile in full, plus the AI features.
The pricing page does not say how many users the starting prices include. Content libraries, BI and managed services are add-ons on every plan. Several Foundation rows show a half-filled icon with no legend, which we read as partial.
Pros
- Published starting prices
- Strong compliance and certification tooling
- SSO on the entry tier
- Branded, multi-tenant portals from Platinum
Cons
- At least $8,000 a year, or $667 a month (8,000 / 12)
- AI features sit on Platinum AI, which has no public price
- Content libraries are add-ons on every plan
Who should use it
Mid-market companies with compliance requirements and customer or partner training, and a budget of $8,000 to $15,000+ a year.
Who should skip it
Teams under about 83 users: $8,000 a year buys 83 active users on 360Learning Team ($8,000 / 12 / $8 = 83.3).
Absorb LMS review
Overview
Absorb LMS (its site moved from absorblms.com to absorbai.com in July 2026) targets mid-market and enterprise organizations that train employees and external audiences. Its stand-out for extended enterprise is commission-free eCommerce included in every instance.
Key features
- SCORM, xAPI and HTML5, plus Absorb Create, a browser-based AI course builder
- Automated enrollment by role, department, location or skill gap
- Certifications and compliance tracking, with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 e-signature support
- Absorb Skills: 200+ competencies and 12,000+ skills (sold only to Amplify Max subscribers)
- Separate secure portals for partners and other external audiences
Pricing
Quote only. The quote form asks for a learner bracket, from 1-50 up to 25,000+. Absorb says you "only pay for the capabilities you use", but it does not say which of its modules (Aura, Create, Analyze, Infuse, Skills, Engage, Amplify) are included or extra. Its FAQ suggests asking any LMS vendor about setup, implementation, data migration, integration and overage costs; that is general buying advice, not a list of what Absorb charges.
Pros
- Commission-free eCommerce included
- Broad HRIS list: ADP, BambooHR, Namely, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, UKG Pro, Dayforce, Deputy
- Pre-built courses through Absorb Amplify (about 2,000 in the Expanded package, 20,000+ in Amplify Max)
- Regulated-industry support (21 CFR Part 11, SOC 2 Type 2)
Cons
- No public prices or trial length
- Unclear which modules cost extra
- Setup and overage costs not listed
Who should use it
Mid-market and larger companies that train customers or partners, sell courses, or work in regulated industries.
Who should skip it
Small teams that want a self-serve start and a fixed published price.
iSpring LMS review
Overview
iSpring LMS (formerly iSpring Learn) suits companies of 100+ employees that build training from PowerPoint and documents. Its Business plan includes the iSpring Suite AI authoring tool, which iSpring sells on its own for $1,290 per author per year. iSpring does not say how many author seats the LMS plan includes.
Key features
- AI course creation from uploaded files, and an AI assistant in the course editor
- Learning tracks, onboarding checklists, mentors and on-the-job training
- 360-degree feedback, performance reviews and competency profiles
- Native mobile app with offline learning
- Knowledge base with AI-powered search (added September 2026)
Pricing
The pricing page shows only annual prices, per active user (someone who logs in at least once in a month):
- Business, 100 users: $8,286/year ($6.91 per user/month)
- Business, 300 users: $16,050/year ($4.46 per user/month)
- Business, 500 users: $23,790/year ($3.97 per user/month)
- Enterprise: request pricing
Fewer than 100 users must request pricing. There are no nonprofit or academic discounts on LMS plans. The 30-day free trial needs no credit card.
Pros
- Published prices with clear volume discounts
- Authoring tool included
- Active means logged in that month, so inactive staff don't count
- 24/7 live tech support
Cons
- The pricing page shows only annual prices
- No published price below 100 users
- No nonprofit or academic discounts on LMS plans
Who should use it
Companies with 100 to 500 employees running onboarding, compliance and performance reviews in one tool, especially if courses start life as slide decks.
Who should skip it
Teams under 100 people, and anyone who needs monthly billing (the pricing page shows only annual prices).
A Note on Lessonly
Lessonly was on our starting list, but it no longer exists as a standalone product. lessonly.com now redirects to Seismic's site, and the product is now Seismic Learning and Coaching, a sales readiness tool inside the Seismic enablement platform, available by demo only. Seismic publishes no pricing and no free trial. Consider it only if your sales team already uses Seismic; for company-wide employee training, we replaced it with iSpring LMS.
Head-to-Head: Onboarding, Compliance and Skills
Onboarding. For course-style onboarding, look for learning paths and auto-enrolment. 360Learning auto-enrols groups by role or location on Team; TalentLMS needs Grow for learning paths (5) and Pro for unlimited paths and automations; iSpring LMS adds onboarding checklists and mentors. For process-style onboarding, Trainual's role-based playbooks are the best fit.
Compliance and certifications. 360Learning offers automated certifications in blended paths. Litmos (certifications, automated compliance workflows, e-signatures from Platinum), Absorb LMS (21 CFR Part 11 e-signatures) and Docebo (certification and compliance tracking) go further for audits. TalentLMS offers custom certificates, ready-made compliance courses in its Course Store and an EasyLlama HR compliance bundle. Trainual covers policy sign-off with e-signatures. Some vendors describe recertification directly: Absorb LMS automates certification and recertification course enrollment, and expiring certifications can trigger renewal coursework; iSpring LMS says its Intelligent Reenrollment System tracks certificate expiration dates and automatically assigns trainings in advance. Whichever tool you pick, test it: set a certificate to expire and check that the learner is re-enrolled and reminded.
Skills. 360Learning offers AI skills tagging, with AI-driven skills-based learning from Business. TalentLMS Skills is on Pro. Docebo sells Skills Intelligence separately. Absorb Skills covers 12,000+ skills (only for Amplify Max subscribers), Litmos puts skill gap analysis in Platinum AI, and iSpring LMS has competency profiles.
Sales and customer training. For role-play practice: 360Learning AI roleplay (on its AI page, not in the plan table), Docebo Roleplay (AI credits), Litmos AI video assessments (Platinum AI) and the TalentLMS Learning Playground. For external learners, Absorb LMS, Docebo and Litmos Platinum lead; 360Learning sells Extended Academies at $2 per user on Team.
Head-to-Head: What It Costs at 25, 50 and 100 Learners
Only three vendors publish enough to compute a bill:
| Learners | 360Learning Team (billed monthly) | TalentLMS Grow (billed annually) | TalentLMS Pro (billed annually) | iSpring LMS Business (billed annually) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | 25 x $8 = $200/mo ($2,400/yr) | $229/mo ($2,748/yr) | $449/mo ($5,388/yr) | Request pricing |
| 50 | 50 x $8 = $400/mo ($4,800/yr) | $229/mo ($2,748/yr) | $449/mo ($5,388/yr) | Request pricing |
| 100 | 100 x $8 = $800/mo ($9,600/yr) | $299/mo ($3,588/yr) | $449/mo ($5,388/yr) | $8,286/yr |
Three takeaways:
- Under about 56 users, 360Learning costs less than TalentLMS Pro. $449 / $8 = 56.1 users. TalentLMS Core and Grow are cheaper still, but Core has no learning paths and Grow caps them at 5.
- At 100 users, TalentLMS Pro is the cheapest full-featured option at $5,388 a year, against $9,600 on 360Learning Team and $8,286 on iSpring LMS.
- Add-ons add up: 100 users on 360Learning Team with Live and Extended Academies cost 100 x ($8 + $2 + $2) = $1,200/month, or $14,400 a year.
For comparison, Litmos Foundation starts at $8,000 a year, and Docebo, Absorb LMS and Trainual need a quote. Add Trainual's $1,000 implementation fee to its first-year cost.
Head-to-Head: AI Features
Confirmed on vendor pages:
- 360Learning: AI course building, quiz generation, translations, AI Companion, AI coaching, AI roleplay, an admin AI agent and skills tagging, on Microsoft Azure OpenAI. AI coaching and roleplay appear on its AI page but not in the plan table, and on Team, Coaching is a $2 per user per month add-on, so don't assume they are in the $8 price.
- TalentLMS: TalentCraft course creator (5,000 one-time credits on Core, 10,000 a month on Grow, 15,000 on Pro); AI tests from Grow; AI translation, AI Coach and Skills on Pro.
- Docebo: AI content creation and Roleplay on usage-based credits, AI assistant, AgentHub, instant translations and an MCP server.
- Trainual: AI documentation drafts, AI quizzes, AI knowledge search, and an MCP server on Premium.
- Litmos: AI content authoring (generating modules, courses and assessments), the AI assistant, AI video assessments, AI insights and skill gap analysis are on Platinum AI. AI-enhanced content management is partial on Platinum and absent on Foundation.
- Absorb LMS: Aura agents (Aura Learn for learner questions, Aura Create to turn a document into a draft course, Aura Admin Assist), AI translations and voice-overs, AI search.
- iSpring LMS: AI course creation from files, AI assistant in the editor, AI knowledge base search, and iSpring Suite AI.
Head-to-Head: HRIS, SSO and Content Libraries
HRIS. Trainual has the longest list from its entry plan (Gusto, BambooHR, ADP Run, Dayforce, Deel, HiBob, Personio, UKG, Workday and more). Absorb LMS also covers ADP, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, UKG Pro and Dayforce. On 360Learning, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors and BambooHR start at Business. TalentLMS connects BambooHR, TalentHR, Sage People and ADP Workforce Now; iSpring LMS connects BambooHR, OrangeHRM and PeopleWeek.
SSO. TalentLMS has SSO on every paid plan and Litmos on Foundation. Trainual needs Premium. 360Learning lists SSO on Team with an asterisk it does not explain, so confirm during the trial.
Content libraries. Absorb Amplify comes in Amplify, Amplify Plus and Amplify Max, and the included courses depend on the package (about 2,000 in the Expanded package, 20,000+ in Amplify Max); TalentLibrary 1,000+ (add-on), Trainual 400+ (add-on) and Docebo Content 150+ publishers (add-on). 360Learning connects Go1, OpenSesame and LinkedIn Learning from Business; Litmos sells its own and partner libraries as add-ons; iSpring LMS has its Course Library plus Go1, Udemy and LinkedIn Learning.
Implementation and Setup
360Learning's Team plan page describes self-guided implementation (async resources and monthly group onboarding sessions) with no setup fee, while its pricing page says all plans come with tailored implementation and launch. 360Learning also offers Professional Services, but does not tie them to a specific plan. TalentLMS states no setup fees and adds onboarding packages with annual billing. Trainual includes implementation support but charges a one-time $1,000 fee. Docebo says setup fees "depend" and are often scoped as extra, Litmos sells managed services as add-ons, and Absorb LMS does not list setup or implementation costs (its FAQ advises asking any LMS vendor about them). iSpring LMS lists 24/7 live tech support and says "No hidden costs", but does not say whether there is an implementation fee.
How to Choose
- Under 100 learners and want to start this week? 360Learning Team or TalentLMS.
- Many experts building courses? 360Learning, since authors cost the same as learners.
- Exactly 100 learners and a fixed budget? TalentLMS Pro billed annually is the cheapest published option.
- Onboarding is mostly SOPs and policies? Trainual.
- Heavy compliance or regulated industry? Litmos or Absorb LMS.
- Training customers and partners at scale? Docebo or Absorb LMS.
- 100 to 500 staff who build courses in PowerPoint? iSpring LMS.
Red flags
- A quote that does not say how users are counted (registered, monthly active or yearly active)
- Overage charges with no stated rate
- AI features on usage credits with no clear price per credit
- HRIS sync or SSO only on a tier above the one you are quoted
What to test before you commit
Use the 30-day trials (360Learning, iSpring LMS) or TalentLMS's free plan to:
- Build one real onboarding path and auto-enrol a test group by role
- Set a certificate to expire and check recertification reminders
- Connect SSO and, where your plan allows it, your HRIS
- Export a completion report your auditor would accept
- Check the mobile app offline
The Verdict
360Learning is the best employee training software for most growing companies: transparent $8 per active user pricing, no minimum, a 30-day trial, collaborative authoring and AI tools on the entry plan, with Business and Enterprise for when you grow. Pick TalentLMS for a free start or the lowest published cost at 100 users, iSpring LMS for 100 to 500 staff building courses in PowerPoint, and Trainual for SOP-driven onboarding. Litmos, Absorb LMS and Docebo are for mid-market and enterprise programs with compliance or external audiences, and budgets to match.
