Best Field Service Management Software in 2026

Short answer: Jobber is the best field service management software for most home service businesses: published prices from $29/month for one user (billed annually), clear tiers up to 15 users, and booking, quotes, invoicing and payments on every plan. Small HVAC and plumbing teams should also trial Housecall Pro, large contractors should get a ServiceTitan quote, and growing teams that want a flat bill should look at Service Fusion.

Starting prices are the lowest paid plan, checked on each vendor's pricing page in October 2026. G2 ratings are shown only when we confirmed them.

Field service management (FSM) software runs the part of a service business that happens between the phone call and the payment: booking the job, putting it on a technician's calendar, sending a quote, getting the tech there, collecting payment on site and syncing it all to your books. For an HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleaning or landscaping company, it replaces the whiteboard, the paper invoice book and a lot of evening admin.

This guide compares seven FSM platforms for home and commercial service businesses: Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Workiz, FieldEdge, Service Fusion and Zuper. We checked each vendor's pricing page, plan comparison table and product pages in October 2026. Where a vendor publishes prices, we list them with the billing basis exactly as stated. Where a vendor sells by quote, we say so and don't guess.

Our original shortlist also included Fieldwire. We dropped it: Fieldwire (by Hilti) is construction jobsite software for plan viewing, punch lists, RFIs and submittals. Its plans don't include customer booking, dispatch, quotes or invoicing, so it doesn't fit a home service business. Service Fusion and Zuper take its place.

What matters most when choosing FSM software:

  • Team size and how the price scales. Some tools charge by user tier, some charge per technician by quote, and one (Service Fusion) charges a flat price with unlimited users. The right choice for a solo operator is rarely the right one at 30 technicians.
  • Whether pricing is published. Jobber, Housecall Pro and Service Fusion list prices. ServiceTitan, Workiz, FieldEdge and Zuper ask you to request pricing or book a demo.
  • The feature gates that matter for your trade. Automated reminders, two-way texting, GPS tracking, route optimization, QuickBooks sync, flat-rate pricing, service agreements and API access sit on different plans at each vendor.
  • The technician mobile app. Your techs will use it on every job. Check that it handles job details, photos, checklists, estimates and payment collection on site.
  • Payment processing costs. Card fees can cost more each year than the subscription. Only some vendors publish their rates.

Jobber

Jobber is our top pick for most home service businesses because it does the core job well at a price you can see before you talk to anyone. A solo window cleaner and a 12-person landscaping crew can both find a plan that fits on the same pricing page, and every plan includes the basics: client management (CRM), a client hub where customers approve quotes and pay invoices, request forms, online booking, quoting, invoicing, card and bank payments, a simple website and the mobile app.

What Jobber does well for service businesses

  • Online booking on every plan. Customers can book online, and Jobber schedules the job based on your preferences.
  • Client hub. A self-serve page where customers approve quotes, check appointment details and pay invoices.
  • Quoting that follows up for you. From Connect up, Jobber sends automated quote and invoice follow-ups and can auto-draft quotes from new requests. Grow adds optional line items, markups and quotes with images and reviews.
  • Routing and GPS from Connect. Route optimization for daily or weekly routes and team GPS tracking start on Connect. Grow adds "Find a Time" scheduling recommendations based on availability and travel time.
  • Mobile app for the field. Techs can view schedules, track time, take photos and notes, and collect payment with Tap to Pay. The app is available in Spanish for team members (not administrators or account owners).

Jobber pricing

Jobber prices by plan and team size. The pricing page shows three billing options: no commitment (monthly), a 1-year commitment billed monthly, and annual (prepaid). Prices below are per month.

  • Core (1 user): $29 billed annually, $39 with a 1-year commitment, $49 no commitment. Online booking, quotes, invoices, payments, a website and built-in reporting.
  • Connect: 1 user $99 annually ($119 1-year, $139 no commitment); 5 users $149 ($169, $199); 10 users $229 ($259, $299); 15 users $299 ($339, $399). Adds automated client reminders, automatic payments, checklists, automated quote and invoice follow-ups, QuickBooks Online and Xero sync, time and expense tracking, routing, GPS tracking and Zapier.
  • Grow: 1 user $149 annually ($169, $199); 5 users $229 ($259, $299); 10 users $299 ($349, $399); 15 users $399 ($429, $499). Adds two-way text messaging, a custom automation builder, job costing, automatic time tracking, optional line items and richer quotes.
  • Plus: 5 users $399 annually ($439, $499); 10 users $449 ($499, $599); 15 users $529 ($599, $699). Adds crew scheduling, job profit alerts, a files and media library, custom report builder, Pipeline, Marketing Suite and the AI Receptionist, dedicated onboarding, Premium Support and an API tour with API access.

Extra users are $29/month each. For teams above 15 users, the pricing page asks you to talk to Jobber. Add-ons are listed at $99/month for Marketing Suite, $29/month for the AI Receptionist and $49/month for Pipeline (included on Plus). Annual plans are billed for the full term up front and the initial payment is non-refundable if you cancel mid-term. The 1-year commitment option has a 12-month minimum.

Payment processing on every plan: 2.9% + 30¢ for online card payments, 2.7% + 30¢ for Tap to Pay, 1% for bank (ACH) payments, and an extra 1% for instant payouts.

Pros

  • Published prices for every plan and team size up to 15 users
  • Online booking, client hub, quotes, invoices and payments on every plan
  • Clean upgrade path from solo to small crew
  • 14-day free trial of Grow with no credit card

Cons

  • Core leaves out automated reminders, QuickBooks sync, routing and GPS
  • Two-way texting and job costing need Grow ($149/month and up, billed annually)
  • The pricing page doesn't list flat-rate pricebook or membership tools that HVAC shops often want
  • Teams over 15 users have to talk to sales

Who should use it: solo operators and crews of up to about 15 people in cleaning, lawn care, landscaping, handyman, pressure washing, pest control and general home services. HVAC and plumbing companies with a few trucks also do well on Connect or Grow.

Who should skip it: HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops with call centers, membership programs and 20+ technicians, which will outgrow it. ServiceTitan or FieldEdge fit that profile better.

Housecall Pro

Housecall Pro is built for home service trades and lists HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleaning and landscaping as its core markets. Its main advantage over Jobber for small trade teams is that its middle plan bundles five users with GPS tracking, routes, flat-rate pricing and QuickBooks Online sync at one price.

What Housecall Pro does well

  • Online booking from Google or your website on every plan, with the option for customers to pay online.
  • Price book and job costing on Basic. Many rivals reserve job costing for higher plans.
  • Essentials adds trade tools: routes, flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports with annotations, employee GPS tracking (using the tech's phone, no hardware), commissions and QuickBooks Online sync.
  • MAX for scaling: a sales proposal tool, recurring service plans, route optimization based on live traffic, open API access, Zapier, a dedicated onboarding specialist and escalated phone support.
  • Consumer financing and a Spanish-language app are listed on every plan, along with live phone and chat support and offline viewing.

Housecall Pro pricing

Prices per month, as listed on the pricing page:

  • Basic: $59 billed annually or $79 monthly. 1 user included. Online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing, payments and consumer financing, price book, job costing, review management.
  • Essentials: $149 billed annually or $189 monthly. 5 users included. Adds routes, flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports, employee GPS tracking, commissions and QuickBooks Online sync.
  • MAX: $299 billed annually or $329 monthly. 8 users included, $35/month per additional user. Adds the sales proposal tool, recurring service plans, route optimization, open API access, a dedicated onboarding specialist and escalated phone support.

The 14-day free trial gives full access to MAX features and needs no credit card. Housecall Pro says it has no long-term contracts. Card processing starts at 2.59%, and bank payments carry a 1% fee. Add-ons such as CSR AI, Pipeline, Payroll, Voice and Accounting are sold separately. Franchises and multi-location businesses get custom pricing.

Pros

  • Five users on Essentials for $149/month (billed annually)
  • Job costing and price book on the entry plan
  • GPS tracking with no hardware from Essentials
  • Lowest published card rate in this group (from 2.59%)

Cons

  • Basic has no QuickBooks sync or GPS tracking
  • Route optimization and open API need MAX
  • The pricing page doesn't say whether Basic and Essentials can add users beyond their limits
  • The add-on catalog adds up if you want AI call answering, payroll or marketing

Who should use it: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleaning and garage door businesses with one to about 10 techs who want trade tools such as flat-rate pricing and GPS without a sales process.

Who should skip it: solo operators who only need quotes and invoices (Jobber Core is cheaper) and large contractors with dispatchers and a call center (ServiceTitan).

ServiceTitan

ServiceTitan is the heavyweight in residential and commercial trades. It covers call booking with call recording, dispatch, pricebook, mobile estimates, memberships, payroll, commission tracking, marketing attribution and reporting in one system. ServiceTitan also sells FieldRoutes and Aspire as separate products.

What ServiceTitan does well

  • Built around the office and the call center. Call booking and call recording tie each inbound call to a booked job, and marketing reporting connects campaign spend to revenue.
  • Pricebook and mobile estimates so techs can present options on site.
  • Memberships, payroll and commission tracking for companies that run maintenance agreements and pay techs on performance.
  • Pro add-ons for larger operations: AI Virtual Agent, Marketing Pro, Contact Center Pro, Pricebook Pro, Fleet Pro and Scheduling Pro.

ServiceTitan pricing

ServiceTitan doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page says it uses per-technician pricing and lists three packages, each with a "Request Pricing" button:

  • Starter: dispatching, scheduling, call booking, invoicing and pricebook.
  • Essentials: adds mobile estimates and payroll management.
  • The Works: adds configurable payroll, advanced reporting, commission tracking and customizable memberships.

The demo request form asks for your trade, number of technicians and whether you have at least one full-time office employee, which tells you who it's built for. ServiceTitan's pricing page doesn't list a free trial, onboarding fees or contract terms; ask about all three in the sales call.

Pros

  • The broadest feature set here for trades with call centers and memberships
  • Marketing attribution from call to revenue
  • Covers residential and commercial service and replacement work
  • Pro add-ons for contact center, fleet and pricebook management

Cons

  • No published pricing; per-technician quote only
  • G2 reviewers often mention a steep learning curve and a long onboarding
  • More system than a small crew needs
  • Advanced reporting, commissions and memberships sit on the top package

Who should use it: HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors with roughly 20 or more technicians, dedicated office staff and maintenance agreement programs.

Who should skip it: solo operators and small crews. The setup work and quote-based pricing make little sense below a few trucks.

Workiz

Workiz targets service businesses where the phone drives revenue, such as locksmiths, garage door, appliance repair and HVAC. A built-in phone system with call tracking, recording, masking and automated messaging is part of every plan, according to its FAQ, and the AI add-ons (Genius Phone, Genius Answering and Genius Marketing) are sold separately.

What Workiz does well

  • Unlimited jobs, invoices, estimates and clients on every plan.
  • Online booking with optional checkout, client portal, price book and recurring jobs on Standard.
  • Fleet and team location tracking and QuickBooks Online sync on Standard.
  • Pro adds multi-location management, roles and permissions, performance pay, custom reports and the Genius Leads and Genius Scheduling AI tools.
  • Ultimate adds the heavy-duty tools: service plans, sales proposals, flat-rate pricing, inventory, checklists, multi-day jobs, purchase orders, equipment tracking, franchise management, open API and Zapier.

Workiz pricing

Workiz lists three plans (Standard, Pro and Ultimate) with "Request pricing" in place of a price. Automations are capped by plan: 5 on Standard, 10 on Pro and 30 on Ultimate. The FAQ says an annual subscription saves "$400+" compared with monthly billing. There is a 7-day free trial with no credit card. The pricing page doesn't say how many users each plan includes.

Pros

  • Phone system built into the product
  • Online booking, client portal and QuickBooks Online sync on the entry plan
  • Franchise and multi-location tools on higher plans
  • Free trial with no credit card

Cons

  • No published prices
  • Roles and permissions need Pro; flat-rate pricing, service plans and API need Ultimate
  • AI phone, answering and marketing tools cost extra
  • 7-day trial is the shortest here

Who should use it: call-driven trades and franchise systems that want calls, jobs and payments in one place.

Who should skip it: owners who want to compare prices before a sales call, and very small teams that don't need a phone system.

FieldEdge

FieldEdge, part of Xplor, focuses on HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors. Its pitch is a guided start: every plan includes an onboarding specialist who moves your data and trains the team, and FieldEdge doesn't offer a free trial for that reason.

What FieldEdge does well

  • QuickBooks Online and Desktop integration on every plan, which few rivals offer for Desktop.
  • Pricebook and flat-rate pricing on every plan, plus call booking, work orders, dispatching, tech time tracking, integrated payments, integrated SMS texting, reminders and lead tracking.
  • Premier adds advanced dispatching, multi-option quotes, advanced service agreements, performance and commission tracking, prospect tracking and 10 saved reports.
  • Elite adds unlimited saved reports, outbound call recording, Proposal Pro (good, better, best options), MarketingEdge with two-way texting, a consumer management portal and warehouse inventory management (only for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise with Advanced Inventory).

FieldEdge pricing

FieldEdge sells by quote. Its FAQ says price depends on how many technicians or employees you have and which add-ons you need. Mobile app licenses included: 2 on Select, 4 on Premier and 6 on Elite. Proposal Pro, MarketingEdge and the consumer portal can be added to Select and Premier at "call for pricing". Support differs by plan: chat on Select, email or phone on Premier, and a dedicated customer success rep on Elite. Downgrades take effect at the end of your contract period.

Pros

  • QuickBooks Desktop support on every plan
  • Flat-rate pricing and pricebook from the entry plan
  • Onboarding specialist and data transfer included
  • Good, better, best proposals on Elite

Cons

  • No published pricing and no free trial
  • Only 2 mobile app licenses on Select
  • Multi-option quotes need Premier
  • Phone support isn't on the entry plan

Who should use it: established HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops, especially ones that keep their books in QuickBooks Desktop.

Who should skip it: cleaning, lawn care and other non-HVAC businesses, and anyone who wants to try before talking to sales.

Service Fusion

Service Fusion is the price outlier in this group: every plan includes unlimited users. Its FAQ is direct about it: whether you have one technician and one dispatcher or 20 technicians and a full office, the price is the same. That makes it the easiest bill to predict for a growing company.

What Service Fusion does well

  • Unlimited users on every plan, including office staff and techs.
  • Starter covers the core: customer management, estimates and jobs, scheduling and dispatching, integrated payments, QuickBooks integration (Online and Desktop), invoicing, project management, reporting and text messaging alerts.
  • Plus adds job photo uploads, inventory management, job costing and integrated voice and text.
  • Pro adds open API integration, custom and eSign documents, the customer web portal, and progress billing and recurring invoicing.
  • Technician mobile app for viewing schedules, accepting jobs, creating work orders and invoices, and taking payment.

Service Fusion pricing

  • Starter: $208/month billed annually, or $245/month on monthly billing.
  • Plus: $325/month billed annually, or $382/month monthly.
  • Pro: $533/month billed annually, or $627/month monthly.

The annual price is a 15% discount charged as one payment at sign-up. Monthly plans have no contract. GPS Fleet Tracking and ServiceCall.ai are add-ons on every plan. Card processing is listed as low as 2.90% + $0.30 per transaction. Service Fusion offers a free demo; we didn't find a free trial on its site.

Pros

  • Unlimited users on every plan
  • QuickBooks Online and Desktop integration
  • Monthly plans with no contract
  • Predictable cost as you hire

Cons

  • Expensive for a solo operator ($208/month minimum on annual billing)
  • Job costing and photo uploads need Plus
  • Customer web portal needs Pro (or an add-on)
  • GPS fleet tracking costs extra on every plan

Who should use it: companies with roughly 8 or more people using the system, especially ones with several office staff who would each count as a paid user elsewhere.

Who should skip it: solo operators and two-person teams, which pay less on Jobber or Housecall Pro.

Zuper

Zuper is a configurable FSM platform aimed at mid-sized contractors, and its site now leads with roofing and exteriors alongside HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, pool, solar and other trades. It suits companies whose processes don't fit a fixed template.

What Zuper does well

  • Skills-based dispatch that assigns jobs by availability, proximity and skills, with a drag-and-drop calendar.
  • Location tools: real-time technician location, geofencing, mileage tracking and ETA alerts.
  • Estimates to invoices: convert approved estimates into jobs and invoices, take payments through Stripe, and sync with QuickBooks, Xero and Zoho Books.
  • Customer portal where customers review jobs, assets, quotes and contracts, plus automated SMS and email updates.
  • Custom workflows and checklists, an API, and AI agents for CSR, field, sales coaching and reputation tasks.

Zuper pricing

Zuper doesn't publish prices. Its site says costs depend on company size and the modules you need and directs buyers to schedule a demo. The pricing URL returned a "page not found" error when we checked in October 2026.

Pros

  • Highly configurable workflows and checklists
  • Skills-based dispatch and location intelligence
  • Customer portal for jobs, assets, quotes and contracts
  • Strong G2 rating (4.7 from 152 reviews)

Cons

  • No published pricing
  • G2 reviewers mention a learning curve and complex setup
  • The site's focus has shifted toward roofing and exteriors
  • More setup than a small crew needs

Who should use it: mid-sized contractors with custom processes, multiple service lines or asset-based maintenance work.

Who should skip it: small home service teams that want to be up and running in a day.

What It Costs: Three Example Teams

The examples below use list prices from the vendors' pricing pages in October 2026, on annual billing (12 times the monthly price billed annually), before tax and card processing. For ServiceTitan, Workiz, FieldEdge and Zuper, pricing is by quote, so we don't estimate it.

Solo operator (1 user)

  • Jobber Core: $29 × 12 = $348/year. Quotes, invoices, payments and online booking, but no automated reminders or QuickBooks sync.
  • Jobber Connect (1 user): $99 × 12 = $1,188/year. Adds automated reminders, QuickBooks Online sync, routing and GPS.
  • Housecall Pro Basic: $59 × 12 = $708/year (or $79 × 12 = $948 on monthly billing). Includes price book and job costing; no QuickBooks sync.
  • Service Fusion Starter: $208 × 12 = $2,496/year. You pay for unlimited users you don't need yet.

Five-person team (owner, office manager, three techs)

  • Jobber Connect (5 users): $149 × 12 = $1,788/year.
  • Jobber Grow (5 users): $229 × 12 = $2,748/year, if you want two-way texting and job costing.
  • Housecall Pro Essentials (5 users): $149 × 12 = $1,788/year, with GPS, routes, flat-rate pricing and QuickBooks Online sync.
  • Service Fusion Starter: $2,496/year; Plus (for job costing and photos) $325 × 12 = $3,900/year.

Fifteen-person team

  • Jobber Grow (15 users): $399 × 12 = $4,788/year; Plus (15 users) $529 × 12 = $6,348/year.
  • Housecall Pro MAX: 8 users included plus 7 extra users at $35/month: ($299 + $245) × 12 = $6,528/year.
  • Service Fusion Plus: $3,900/year; Pro $533 × 12 = $6,396/year. The price stays the same at 30 or 50 users.

Past 15 users, Jobber asks you to talk to sales, and the quote-based vendors become the main options. Service Fusion's flat price is the only published price that doesn't rise with headcount. At 50+ technicians, most buyers will be comparing ServiceTitan, FieldEdge and Zuper quotes, so ask each for a written per-technician price, onboarding fee and contract term.

Card fees matter too. On $500,000 a year of card payments, a 0.3 percentage point difference in card rate is $1,500 a year, more than some subscriptions. Jobber lists 2.9% + 30¢ online and 2.7% + 30¢ for Tap to Pay; Housecall Pro lists card rates from 2.59%; Service Fusion lists rates as low as 2.90% + $0.30. The other vendors didn't publish rates on the pages we checked.

How to Choose

Start with team size

  • Solo to 3 people: Jobber (Core or Connect) or Housecall Pro Basic. Both publish prices and offer 14-day free trials without a card.
  • 4 to 15 people: Jobber Connect or Grow, or Housecall Pro Essentials or MAX. Run the user math above with your real headcount, counting office staff.
  • 15 to 50 people: Service Fusion (flat price), Housecall Pro MAX, Workiz, or FieldEdge. Get at least two quotes.
  • 50+ technicians or a call center: ServiceTitan, FieldEdge Elite or Zuper. Plan for a structured onboarding project.

Match the feature gates to your trade

  • Cleaning, lawn care and landscaping need recurring jobs, routing and automatic payments. Look at Jobber Connect and up, or Housecall Pro Essentials (routes) and MAX (route optimization).
  • HVAC and plumbing need a pricebook, flat-rate pricing and service agreements or memberships. Look at Housecall Pro Essentials (flat-rate) and MAX (service plans), Workiz Ultimate, FieldEdge, or ServiceTitan.
  • Call-driven trades (garage door, locksmith, appliance repair) benefit from a built-in phone system. Workiz includes one; ServiceTitan offers call booking and recording.

Check the accounting connection

QuickBooks Online sync is on Jobber Connect and up, Housecall Pro Essentials and up, Workiz Standard and up, and every FieldEdge and Service Fusion plan. If you use QuickBooks Desktop, FieldEdge and Service Fusion both list Desktop support.

Ask the quote-based vendors the same questions

For ServiceTitan, Workiz, FieldEdge and Zuper, ask for: the monthly price per technician or user, whether office users cost extra, the onboarding or implementation fee, the contract length and cancellation terms, card processing rates, and which add-ons you'd need to match the demo you saw.

Use the trial on real jobs

Jobber and Housecall Pro offer 14 days and Workiz offers 7 days, all without a card. Run a real week through the trial: book a job online, send a quote, dispatch it, complete it on the mobile app, take a payment and sync it to your accounting software.

Final Recommendations

  • Choose Jobber if you want the clearest pricing and a tool that grows from one person to a 15-person crew. Start on Connect if you need reminders, QuickBooks sync and routing; go to Grow for two-way texting and job costing.
  • Choose Housecall Pro if you run a small HVAC, plumbing or electrical team and want GPS, flat-rate pricing and QuickBooks sync for five users at one price.
  • Choose ServiceTitan if you have 20+ technicians, a call center and a membership program, and you're ready for a longer setup.
  • Choose Service Fusion if your headcount is growing and you want a bill that doesn't change when you hire.
  • Choose Workiz if phone calls drive your business or you're building a franchise.
  • Choose FieldEdge if you're an established HVAC shop on QuickBooks Desktop and want guided onboarding.
  • Choose Zuper if your workflows are unusual and you need a platform you can configure around them.

For most home service businesses, Jobber is the safest first trial: you can see every price, start small and upgrade one plan at a time. Just check that the plan you pick includes reminders, QuickBooks sync and routing, because Core doesn't.

Frequently asked questions

For most small home service businesses, Jobber is the easiest place to start: it publishes every price, starts at $29/month for one user (billed annually) and includes online booking, quotes, invoicing and payments on every plan. Small HVAC and plumbing teams should also trial Housecall Pro Essentials, which includes five users, GPS tracking, flat-rate pricing and QuickBooks Online sync for $149/month billed annually.
