Starting prices are the lowest paid plan, checked on each vendor's pricing page in October 2026. G2 ratings are shown only when we confirmed them.

Affiliate marketing software tracks who sent each sale, works out what you owe them and helps you pay it. That sounds simple, but the tools on the market are built for very different businesses. Some only work with Stripe subscriptions. Some only work with Shopify-style stores. Some take a cut of every affiliate sale, some charge a flat fee, and some cap the revenue you can track before you must upgrade.

This guide is for brands running their own affiliate or partner program, SaaS or e-commerce. We compare seven tools: Rewardful, FirstPromoter, PartnerStack, impact.com, Refersion, Tapfiliate and Post Affiliate Pro. All prices are USD list prices from each vendor's own pricing page in October 2026.

What matters when choosing affiliate software

Before looking at features, answer three questions.

1. Are you a SaaS business or an e-commerce store? This is the biggest split. SaaS programs usually pay recurring commissions on subscriptions, so the tool must read your billing system (Stripe, Paddle, Chargebee, Recurly) and adjust commissions when a customer upgrades, downgrades, cancels or gets a refund. E-commerce programs pay on orders, so the tool needs a native app for your store platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce) and usually coupon code tracking for creators.

  • Built for SaaS billing: Rewardful, FirstPromoter, PartnerStack.
  • Built for stores: Refersion, impact.com.
  • Both: Tapfiliate and Post Affiliate Pro, through long integration lists.

2. Do you want self-serve or a sales-led contract? Rewardful, FirstPromoter, Tapfiliate, Post Affiliate Pro, Refersion and impact.com's Starter plan let you sign up and start. PartnerStack has no public prices at all, and impact.com's Essentials, Pro and Enterprise tiers need a demo and a 12-month contract.

3. How do you want to pay for it? The pricing models differ more than the features do:

  • Flat fee with a revenue cap: Rewardful and FirstPromoter charge a monthly price, and each plan covers affiliate-generated revenue up to a limit. Pass the limit and you move up a tier.
  • Flat fee with usage limits: Tapfiliate limits affiliates, clicks and conversions per month and charges overage. Post Affiliate Pro limits tracking requests.
  • Percentage of sales: Refersion takes 3% (Launch) or 2% (Growth) of affiliate-driven sales on top of the subscription. impact.com Starter charges 2.5% of partner-driven revenue, with a $30/month minimum.
  • By quote: PartnerStack, and the larger tiers of impact.com and Refersion.

Then check who sends money to affiliates and whether the tool offers a marketplace. Both are covered below.

How we compared

We compared plans, limits and documentation on each vendor's own website, checked in October 2026. We did not run a live affiliate program on each tool, so this is an editor's comparison of what each plan includes and costs, not a hands-on test. Where a vendor page did not state something clearly (for example a payout fee or the size of a marketplace), we left it out rather than guess.

Prices checked October 2026 on each vendor's pricing page. Payment processing fees, payout fees and the commissions you pay affiliates are extra in every case.

Fees explained: percentages, flat fees and revenue caps

Here is how each model behaves as your program grows.

Percentage of sales. Refersion's Launch plan is $39/month plus 3% of affiliate-driven sales. Growth is $199/month plus 2%. Refersion is clear that the percentage applies to affiliate-driven sales only, not your whole store, and is billed monthly. impact.com's help center explains Starter's "$30/mo, 2.5% of Revenue": you pay the greater of $30 or 2.5% of the month's revenue from locked (approved) partner-driven conversions. So $30 is a minimum, not a base fee added to the 2.5%. A percentage model is cheap when your program is small and expensive when it works.

Flat fee with a revenue cap. Rewardful and FirstPromoter both price by affiliate-generated revenue, not total company revenue. Rewardful covers up to $7,500/month on Starter ($49) and $15,000 on Growth ($99). FirstPromoter covers $5,000 on Starter ($49) and $15,000 on Business ($99). Inside each band the price does not move, and Rewardful states a 0% transaction fee on every plan.

Flat fee with usage limits. Tapfiliate Launch ($89/month) includes 50 affiliates, 5,000 clicks and 500 conversions a month, with overage fees above that. Post Affiliate Pro charges by tracking requests: 10,000 a month on Starter, 1 million on Pro, with per-10,000 overage on each plan. Neither takes a revenue percentage.

Contract tiers. impact.com's contract tiers ($500 to $10,000/month) are sized by your total e-commerce revenue and include a set amount of partner payouts. Payouts above that are paid by volume. These tiers need a 12-month contract, and setup and onboarding services cost $250/hour.

Who pays your affiliates?

Someone has to send the money, collect tax forms and deal with currencies. The tools fall into three groups.

The vendor pays partners for you. PartnerStack's Partner Payments means you pay one monthly invoice and PartnerStack pays your partners. Partners withdraw in their own currency through Stripe, PayPal or direct deposit. impact.com automates contracts and partner payouts in 70+ currencies. Refersion's Unified Payments sends payouts through PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, ACH or bank transfer, or as Shopify gift cards, and handles 1099 forms for eligible US affiliates.

Optional managed payouts. Rewardful offers Managed Payouts on every plan for a 3% processing fee on the payouts (affiliates may also pay withdrawal fees). FirstPromoter offers Managed Auto Payouts on Enterprise only, for SaaS companies, with approval required. Tapfiliate automates payouts through Trolley from the Scale plan.

You pay, the tool helps. On their base plans, Rewardful supports PayPal mass payouts and Wise bulk payouts, and FirstPromoter supports mass payouts through PayPal, Wise, Stripe, crypto and bank transfer in 190 currencies, plus W-9 and W-8BEN collection. Post Affiliate Pro does not send money itself: you define payout methods, mark affiliates as paid and export a mass payment file.

Partner marketplaces: do you need one?

A marketplace is a directory where affiliates can find your program and apply.

  • impact.com has the largest network in this group and lists a Partner Marketplace from the Essentials tier. Starter lists "partner recommendations" instead.
  • PartnerStack Marketplace is a B2B network of partners who promote software.
  • Refersion Marketplace has a free listing tier: affiliates can see your offer and apply, but you need a paid plan to review them, track sales and pay commissions.
  • Tapfiliate has an Affiliate Offers marketplace where your program can be discovered.
  • Rewardful, FirstPromoter and Post Affiliate Pro have no marketplace. You recruit affiliates from your own customers, content and outreach.

SaaS affiliates are often customers and agencies you already know, so many SaaS programs can skip a marketplace. Stores chasing creators at scale benefit more.

Rewardful: Full Review

Rewardful is affiliate software for SaaS companies that bill through Stripe or Paddle.

Key features

  • Two-way Stripe sync (Rewardful is a Premier Stripe Partner), plus integrations with Paddle and tools like SamCart, Podia, Outseta and MemberStack
  • Commissions adjust automatically on upgrades, downgrades, cancellations and free trials
  • SEO-friendly referral links (?via=name) on your own domain, plus direct page tracking
  • Coupon code tracking and double-sided incentives on every plan
  • PayPal mass payouts and Wise bulk payouts, with optional Managed Payouts

Pricing

Every plan has a 14-day free trial, unlimited affiliates and visitors, all integrations and a 0% transaction fee. Annual billing gives 12 months for the price of 10.

  • Starter: $49/month or $490/year. Up to $7,500/month affiliate-attributed revenue, 1 campaign, up to 2 team members.
  • Growth: $99/month or $990/year. Up to $15,000/month, unlimited campaigns and team members, branded affiliate portal, custom domain, private invite-only campaigns, custom rewards.
  • Enterprise: from $149/month or $1,490/year for up to $30,000/month, rising in tiers with usage. Adds phone support and one-click PayPal payouts.
  • Managed Payouts: optional on every plan, 3% processing fee on payouts.

Pros

  • 0% transaction fee on every plan
  • The deepest Stripe integration in this group
  • Unlimited affiliates even on Starter
  • Managed Payouts available on any plan, not only the top tier

Cons

  • Plans are capped by monthly affiliate-attributed revenue
  • Starter has one campaign, two team members and no branded portal or custom domain
  • No Shopify, Chargebee or Recurly on its integrations page
  • No marketplace to recruit affiliates

Who it's for

Choose Rewardful if you are a SaaS company on Stripe or Paddle and want a recurring commission program with simple setup and a predictable bill. Skip it if you sell physical products on Shopify, or if your billing runs on Chargebee or Recurly.

Why it is our top pick: for the most common case (a small or mid-size company starting its own program), Rewardful gives the best mix of price and simplicity. At the same $49 entry price as FirstPromoter it covers more affiliate revenue ($7,500 vs $5,000 a month) and has no cap on affiliates (FirstPromoter Starter allows 1,000). It states a 0% transaction fee, so your bill does not grow with each sale inside a tier. And it is the only self-serve SaaS tool here that offers someone else to handle payouts on every plan.

FirstPromoter: Full Review

FirstPromoter is Rewardful's closest rival. It costs the same at entry level but supports more billing systems and more ways to pay affiliates.

Key features

  • Billing integrations with Stripe (including historical import), Paddle, Chargebee, Recurly and Braintree
  • Recurring and lifetime commissions, rate rules, bonuses and multi-tier commissions up to 3 levels
  • Mass payouts through PayPal, Wise, Stripe, crypto and bank transfer in 190 currencies
  • W-9 and W-8BEN tax form collection in the affiliate portal
  • Fraud controls: self-referral detection, reCAPTCHA and automatic negative commissions on refunds

Pricing

All plans have a 14-day free trial with no credit card and unlimited team members. Pricing is based on affiliate-generated revenue, not total revenue.

  • Starter: $49/month or $490/year. Up to $5,000/month affiliate revenue, up to 1,000 affiliates, 3 campaigns.
  • Business: $99/month or $990/year. Up to $15,000/month, unlimited affiliates and campaigns, 2 websites, custom dashboard domain, embedded dashboard, custom email domain, one-click PayPal payouts, VAT-compliant self-billed invoices for the EU.
  • Enterprise: from $149/month or $1,490/year ("Let's talk"). Above $15,000/month, 3 websites, white-labeling, SSO, activity logs, post-back URL and Managed Auto Payouts.

Pros

  • Widest SaaS billing support in this group
  • Unlimited team members on every plan
  • No credit card needed for the trial
  • Many payout rails and built-in tax form collection

Cons

  • Starter covers only $5,000/month affiliate revenue and 1,000 affiliates
  • Custom domain and one-click PayPal payouts need Business
  • White-labeling, SSO and managed payouts only on Enterprise
  • No marketplace and no Shopify integration listed

Who it's for

Choose FirstPromoter if you bill through Chargebee, Recurly or Braintree, if you pay affiliates in many countries, or if a large team needs access. If you are on Stripe and your program is still small, Rewardful's higher Starter cap gives you more room for the same $49.

PartnerStack: Full Review

PartnerStack is a B2B SaaS partner platform covering affiliates, referral partners, resellers and co-sell programs, and it pays your partners for you.

Key features

  • PartnerStack Marketplace, a network of B2B partners
  • Partner Payments: you pay one monthly invoice and PartnerStack pays partners, who withdraw in their own currency through Stripe, PayPal or direct deposit
  • Affiliate links plus lead and deal registration for co-sell and reseller partners
  • CRM integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive) and billing integrations (Stripe, Chargebee, Recurly)
  • Fraud protection that scans applications and transactions and blocks flagged rewards

Pricing

PartnerStack publishes no prices. All three plans need a demo, and the FAQ says price depends on program size, features and support level. There is no limit on partners or internal users, and all plans include guided onboarding. No free trial or free plan is mentioned.

  • Launch: affiliate link tracking or lead and deal registration (pick one), Marketplace access, PartnerStack AI and an MCP connector, Partner Payments, onboarding and enablement tools, CRM integrations.
  • Growth: adds advanced integrations support, learning management, partner challenges and incentives, MDF management and advanced segmentation.
  • Enterprise: adds both link tracking and lead/deal registration, custom workflows, a designated CSM, partner introductions and priority support.

Pros

  • Built for B2B SaaS: recurring revenue share, deal registration and CRM sync
  • Payouts handled for you with a single invoice
  • B2B partner marketplace
  • No limits on partners or internal users

Cons

  • No public pricing; demo required
  • No self-serve signup or trial advertised
  • Launch makes you choose link tracking or deal registration
  • No Shopify or Paddle on its integrations page

Who it's for

Choose PartnerStack if you are a B2B SaaS company with a sales team, want resellers and referral partners next to affiliates, and want to stop handling partner payments yourself. Skip it if you want to see a price before talking to sales or if you are an early-stage startup testing the channel.

impact.com: Full Review

impact.com is a partnership platform for affiliate, creator, customer referral and retail media programs. It is the most complete tool here and the one aimed at the largest brands, but it also has a self-serve Starter plan for smaller stores.

Key features

  • Partner Marketplace for recruiting affiliates and publishers (from Essentials)
  • Contracts and partner payouts automated in 70+ currencies
  • Universal Tracking Tag, server-to-server and cross-device tracking, cookieless attribution
  • Fraud protection, including bot-click detection (the pricing FAQ lists Paid Search Monitoring and Promo Code Monitoring as add-ons from Essentials, so check what your tier includes)
  • Creator (influencer) and Advocate (customer referral) programs included from Essentials

Pricing

impact.com publishes its tier prices, which is unusual for a platform at this level.

  • Starter: the greater of $30/month or 2.5% of partner-driven revenue. Self-serve, 30-day free trial, no setup fee, no add-ons. Only for stores on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce, Squarespace, Ecwid, Shoplazza, nopCommerce or Zoho Commerce. Includes basic tracking and reporting, Amazon, Walmart and BestBuy integration, partner recommendations and chat support.
  • Essentials: $500/month, includes up to $2,500/month in partner payouts. For brands up to $2M/year in total e-commerce revenue. Adds all tracking and reporting, Partner Marketplace, multi-domain programs, dedicated support, Creator and Advocate.
  • Pro: $2,500/month, includes up to $14,300/month in partner payouts. For $2M to $15M/year. Adds API-based tracking, custom commission rates, Data Lab analytics, SAML and advanced integrations.

Essentials and above need a demo and a 12-month contract, any tier change needs a new 12-month addendum, and setup and onboarding services are $250/hour. Add-ons on Essentials and above include Creator Premium, Optimize, Paid Search Monitoring, Promo Code Monitoring and AI Search Visibility.

Pros

  • Large partner marketplace plus full program management
  • Payouts handled in 70+ currencies
  • Affiliate, creator, referral and retail media in one platform
  • Self-serve Starter with a 30-day trial for testing the channel

Cons

  • Big jump from Starter to Essentials ($500/month)
  • Starter costs 2.5% of partner-driven revenue once that is more than $30 a month, and has no add-ons
  • Starter is for listed e-commerce platforms only, not SaaS on Stripe or Paddle
  • 12-month contracts and paid onboarding from Essentials

Who it's for

Choose impact.com if you are an e-commerce or retail brand with millions in annual revenue and want to recruit publishers, creators and affiliates at scale, with fraud controls and global payouts. Smaller stores can use Starter to test whether affiliates work for them. SaaS companies should look elsewhere.

Refersion: Full Review

Refersion is affiliate software built for e-commerce, especially Shopify brands. It pairs tracking with a marketplace and built-in payouts.

  • Tracking by link, coupon code and manual credit; by product SKU and customer email on Growth
  • Unified Payments: PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, ACH or bank transfer and Shopify gift cards

Pricing

  • Marketplace Listing: free. Your offer is listed and affiliates can apply, but reviewing them, tracking, commissions and payouts need a paid plan.

Pros

  • Built for Shopify and other e-commerce platforms
  • Free marketplace listing to attract affiliates
  • Unlimited affiliates, clicks and conversions from Launch

Who it's for

Choose Refersion if you run a Shopify or BigCommerce store, want help finding affiliates and creators, and want payouts and 1099s handled in one place. Watch the percentage fee: see the cost example below for when Growth becomes cheaper than Launch.

Tapfiliate: Full Review

Tapfiliate sits in the middle: it works for both stores and subscription businesses, charges a flat fee, and adds features like multi-level commissions.

  • Multi-level marketing (MLM) commissions
  • Automated affiliate payouts through Trolley on Scale

Pricing

Pros

  • Works for both e-commerce and Stripe-based SaaS

  • MLM and multiple programs

Cons

  • Launch is tight: 50 affiliates and one team member

  • Automated payouts only from Scale
  • No Paddle or Chargebee on its integrations page

Who it's for

Choose Tapfiliate if you sell on Shopify or another store platform (or on Stripe) and want a predictable flat fee. Plan on Scale if you expect more than 50 affiliates. It is also a good fit for brands running several programs or MLM-style commissions.

Post Affiliate Pro: Full Review

Post Affiliate Pro, made by Quality Unit, is a highly configurable affiliate platform. It has the most commission options here and a plan for running your own affiliate network.

Key features

  • Unlimited affiliates on every plan, with usage priced by tracking requests
  • 220+ integrations on Pro and above, including Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento 2, BigCommerce, Stripe, Braintree, PayPal, Wix and Squarespace
  • Multi-tier commissions, forced matrix, lifetime referrals and performance rewards
  • Mass payments: define payout methods and export a mass payment file
  • A Network plan to run your own affiliate network with multiple merchants

Pricing

Every plan has a 30-day free trial, unlimited affiliates and 24/7 support.

  • Starter: $89/month or $79/month billed annually. 10,000 tracking requests a month ($5 per extra 10,000), 1 campaign, 125+ plugins, setup up to 2 hours, 2 years of tracking history. Multiple currencies ($19/month) and GeoIP ($9/month) are add-ons. The page marks Starter as a limited offer valid May to July 2026, but it was still listed in October 2026.
  • Pro: $139/month or $129/month billed annually. 1 million tracking requests ($1 per extra 10,000), 220+ integrations, full setup, unlimited history.
  • Ultimate: $269/month or $249/month billed annually. 6 million requests, performance rewards, multiple administrators, lifetime referrals manager, forced matrix.
  • Network: $649/month or $599/month billed annually. 20 million requests, multiple merchant accounts, smartlinks, a branding-free option and an audit log.

Pros

  • Longest trial here (30 days)
  • The most configurable commissions (multi-tier, matrix, lifetime)
  • The only tool here that lets you host other merchants
  • No revenue percentage

Cons

  • Starter has a small request limit, one campaign and is labeled a limited-time offer
  • Does not send payouts; you pay from an exported file
  • Multi-currency costs extra on Starter
  • No marketplace, and the number of options means more setup work

Who it's for

Choose Post Affiliate Pro if your program needs multi-tier or lifetime commissions, or if you want to run an affiliate network for other merchants. For a simple program, the tools above are quicker to run.

Cost example: a SaaS company with $10,000/month in affiliate revenue

Say your SaaS earns $10,000 a month from affiliate-referred customers and bills through Stripe. Commissions are extra in every case. Here is the software cost alone, from published prices:

  • Rewardful: $10,000 is above Starter's $7,500 cap, so you need Growth: $99/month, or $990/year (about $82.50/month). Transaction fee: 0%. If you also use Managed Payouts and pay a 20% commission ($2,000 a month), the 3% fee adds $2,000 x 3% = $60, for $159/month on monthly billing.
  • FirstPromoter: $10,000 is above Starter's $5,000 cap, so you need Business: $99/month, or $990/year. The pricing page lists no transaction fee.
  • Tapfiliate: Launch is $89/month ($890/year) if you stay within 50 affiliates, 5,000 clicks and 500 conversions a month. More affiliates means Scale at $179/month ($1,790/year).
  • Post Affiliate Pro: Starter at $89/month ($79 billed annually) if your traffic fits 10,000 tracking requests; otherwise Pro at $139/month ($129 billed annually).
  • Refersion (through its Stripe code widget): Launch is $39 + (3% x $10,000 = $300) = $339/month, or $4,068 a year on monthly billing. Growth is $199 + (2% x $10,000 = $200) = $399/month.
  • impact.com Starter: not available, because it only supports the listed e-commerce platforms.
  • PartnerStack: by quote.

The flat-fee tools cost roughly $900 to $2,150 a year here, depending on plan and billing. A percentage model costs several times more at this level of affiliate revenue, which is why SaaS companies rarely choose one.

Cost example: a Shopify store with $20,000/month in affiliate sales

Now take a Shopify store with $20,000 a month in affiliate-driven sales. Rewardful and FirstPromoter do not list Shopify, so they drop out.

  • Refersion Launch: $39 + (3% x $20,000 = $600) = $639/month, or $7,668 a year.
  • Refersion Growth: $199 + (2% x $20,000 = $400) = $599/month, or $7,188 a year. At this level Growth is cheaper than Launch. The two cost the same when $39 + 3% of sales = $199 + 2% of sales, which is at $16,000 a month in affiliate sales. Above that, Growth wins.
  • impact.com Starter: 2.5% x $20,000 = $500, which is more than the $30 minimum, so $500/month, or $6,000 a year.
  • Tapfiliate: Launch is $89/month if you have 50 affiliates or fewer and stay within its click and conversion limits. Scale is $179/month, or $1,790/year billed annually.
  • Post Affiliate Pro: Starter at $89/month or Pro at $139/month ($129 billed annually, $1,548/year), depending on traffic.

The gap is large: a flat-fee tool costs about $900 to $2,150 a year, while a percentage-based one costs $6,000 to $7,700. Against Tapfiliate Scale at $179/month, Refersion Launch costs more once affiliate sales pass about $4,667 a month ($39 + 3% x $4,667 = about $179), and impact.com Starter costs more past $7,160 a month (2.5% x $7,160 = $179).

So why pay a percentage? Because the percentage tools include things the flat-fee tools do not: Refersion handles payouts and 1099s and gives you a marketplace listing, and impact.com connects you to a large partner network. If you already have affiliates and can pay them yourself, a flat fee is far cheaper. If you need help finding and paying partners, the percentage may be worth it, especially while sales are small.

How to choose

SaaS on Stripe or Paddle, starting out: Rewardful. Start on Starter ($49/month) and move to Growth when affiliate revenue passes $7,500 a month.

SaaS on Chargebee, Recurly or Braintree: FirstPromoter. It also suits teams that need unlimited seats or pay affiliates across many countries.

B2B SaaS with resellers and a sales team: PartnerStack, if you are ready for a demo and quote-based pricing and want payouts handled for you.

Small Shopify store testing affiliates: impact.com Starter (2.5% of partner-driven revenue, $30/month minimum, 30-day trial) or Refersion Launch ($39/month plus 3%). Both are cheap at low volume. Refersion includes a marketplace listing and Unified Payments; impact.com Starter offers partner recommendations and a path to its larger network.

Growing Shopify store with its own affiliates: Tapfiliate. A flat fee beats a percentage once affiliate sales pass a few thousand dollars a month.

Shopify brand above $16,000/month in affiliate sales on Refersion: move from Launch to Growth, or ask about the flat-fee Scale plan once you pass $1M GMV a year.

Retail brand with $2M+ in annual e-commerce revenue: impact.com Essentials or Pro, if you want a marketplace, creator and referral programs, and global payouts, and can sign a 12-month contract.

Complex commission structures or your own network: Post Affiliate Pro.

Before you commit, confirm your billing system or store platform is on the vendor's integrations page, estimate 12 months of affiliate revenue to see which tier or percentage you will pay, and decide who will send payouts and collect tax forms.

Final Verdict

Rewardful is our top pick for most brands running their own affiliate program. It is cheap to start, charges 0% transaction fees, includes unlimited affiliates, tracks Stripe subscription changes accurately, and lets you hand off payouts for 3% on any plan. Its limits are clear: it is for SaaS on Stripe or Paddle, it is capped by affiliate revenue, and it will not find affiliates for you.

If you are a SaaS company on another billing system, choose FirstPromoter. If you are a B2B SaaS company that wants a partner network and payouts handled, talk to PartnerStack. For e-commerce, pick Refersion if you want a marketplace and built-in payouts, Tapfiliate if you want a flat fee, and impact.com if you are a larger retail brand ready for a contract. Post Affiliate Pro is for programs whose commission rules the others cannot express.

Frequently asked questions

For most brands running their own program on Stripe or Paddle, Rewardful: $49/month, 0% transaction fees, unlimited affiliates and commissions that follow subscription changes. For Shopify stores, Refersion (marketplace and built-in payouts) or Tapfiliate (flat fee) fit better, and larger retail brands should look at impact.com.
