Cold email software sends personalized email sequences to people who have not heard from you yet, and tries to keep those emails out of spam while it does. A good tool connects your sending mailboxes, warms them up, rotates sends across them, stops a sequence when someone replies, and collects the replies in one inbox. Most of the tools in this guide now also sell lead data, AI writing and ready-made mailboxes, so the price on the plan card is rarely the whole bill.
This guide compares seven tools using each vendor's own pricing pages, pricing fact sheets, help centers and product pages, checked in October 2026:
- Flat-fee, high-volume senders: Instantly and Smartlead
- Multichannel (email plus LinkedIn and calls): lemlist and Reply.io
- Budget all-rounders: Woodpecker and Saleshandy
- Simple email plus a phone dialer: Mailshake
What matters most when you buy one:
- How you are billed. Some tools charge a flat fee no matter how many mailboxes you connect (Instantly, Smartlead, Saleshandy, lemlist's Email plan). Others charge per user, per mailbox or per contacted prospect. This decides your cost far more than the headline price.
- Warmup and deliverability. Every tool here includes some form of warmup. Look at how many mailboxes it covers, whether inbox placement testing is included, and whether you can get dedicated IPs.
- Monthly limits. Plans cap emails sent, contacts uploaded or "active" prospects. A cheap plan with a 5,000-email cap may not fit five mailboxes.
- What else you need. If you want LinkedIn steps, a lead database or an API, check which plan unlocks it. These are often the reason a $39 plan turns into a $100+ plan.
We have not run campaigns in these tools for this guide. Everything below comes from what each vendor publishes, and every number was checked on the vendor's site in October 2026. Database sizes and similar figures are the vendors' own claims.
Comparison Table
| Tool | Starting price (monthly / yearly) | Free plan or trial | Best for | Standout feature |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Instantly | $47 / $37.60 per month | 14-day trial, no card | High-volume sending across many mailboxes | Unlimited mailboxes and warmup on every plan |
| Smartlead | $39 / $32.50 per month | Trial, no card (length not stated) | Agencies | Client workspaces, whitelabel, dedicated IPs |
| lemlist | $69 / $55 per month (Email plan) | 14-day trial with 200 credits | Email plus LinkedIn | LinkedIn steps in the same sequence |
| Woodpecker | $35 / about $23 per month | 14 days or 100 emails | Low volume, small teams | Pay per contacted prospect, unlimited users |
| Mailshake | $29 / $25 per month | No trial | Email plus phone | Power dialer with North American minutes |
| Saleshandy | $41 / $34 per month | 7-day trial, 100 emails | Cold email plus lead data | Lead Finder credits in every plan |
| Reply.io | $59 / $49 per user per month | 14-day trial | Multichannel sales teams | LinkedIn, calls and SMS in one per-user plan |
None of the seven has a permanent free plan for sending cold email.
Instantly
Instantly is built around one idea: connect as many sending mailboxes as you want and warm all of them for one flat fee. It is the tool many agencies and founders reach for when they want to spread volume across dozens of inboxes without per-mailbox charges.
Key features
- Unlimited email accounts and unlimited warmup on every Outreach plan. Instantly says its warmup network has more than 4.2 million accounts (vendor claim).
- Unibox, a shared inbox for replies from every mailbox. On Growth it is preview-only; replying from Unibox starts on Hypergrowth.
- Deliverability tools: reputation protection and bounce detection, an AI spam words checker, a Deliverability AI agent and blocklist triggers (Hypergrowth and up), and SISR, a dedicated server and IP rotation system, on Light Speed.
- SuperSearch lead database (Instantly says 450M+ B2B contacts) with waterfall work email enrichment, billed in Instantly Credits.
- Done-for-you and pre-warmed Google accounts and domains bought in the app.
Pricing
Instantly sells sending (Outreach) and data and AI (Instantly Credits) as separate subscriptions, or together as bundles.
- Growth: $47/month, or $37.60/month billed yearly. 5,000 emails and 1,000 uploaded contacts a month.
- Hypergrowth: $97/month, or $77.60/month billed yearly. 25,000 uploaded contacts and 125,000 emails a month (the plan card and Instantly's pricing fact sheet say 125,000; the comparison table on the same page says 100,000).
- Light Speed: $358/month, or $286.30/month billed yearly. 500,000 emails and 100,000 contacts, plus SISR.
- Enterprise: custom.
Credits start at $9/month for 150 (Nano), then $47/month for 1,500 to 2,000 (Growth Credits). Bundles combine both: Starter at $94/month ($85 yearly), Scale at $194/month ($175 yearly) and Agency at $555/month ($500 yearly). Instantly does not charge overage: when you hit a limit, you move up a tier. The 14-day trial needs no card and is capped at 250 contacts and 1,000 emails. Mailboxes cost $4 to $10 per month each, and domains $15 a year.
Pros
- Unlimited mailboxes and warmup on the cheapest plan
- No per-seat or per-mailbox fees
- Lead data and AI agents available in the same tool
- Ready-made and pre-warmed mailboxes sold in-app
Cons
- Growth's 1,000 uploaded contacts a month is tight once you run more than a handful of mailboxes
- Replying from Unibox and webhooks need Hypergrowth ($97/month)
- Lead data is a second subscription, so many teams end up paying $94 or more a month
- Credits expire two months after purchase on monthly billing
Who it is for: founders, sales teams and agencies that want to run many mailboxes at a predictable flat price.
Who should skip it: teams that need LinkedIn steps in the same sequence, or that only ever send from one or two mailboxes and will not use the volume.
Smartlead
Smartlead competes head-on with Instantly: unlimited mailboxes, unlimited warmup and a flat fee. Where it pulls ahead is agency tooling, with separate client workspaces, whitelabel and private sending infrastructure.
Key features
- Unlimited email accounts and unlimited warmup on every plan, with a warmup pool tier that improves as you move up (Foundation, Growth, then Premium).
- Automatic mailbox rotation inside each campaign.
- Unified master inbox for replies.
- Client workspaces with whitelabel at $29/month each from the Pro plan; Unlimited Prime includes three.
- Add-ons for deliverability: SmartDelivery inbox placement testing ($49, $174 or $599 a month), SmartServers dedicated IPs ($39 per server per month) and SmartSenders mailboxes ($4.50 a month for fresh Google or Outlook mailboxes, $9 for pre-warmed).
Pricing
- Base: $39/month, or $32.50/month billed yearly. 2,000 contacts, 6,000 emails a month. No CRM, API or webhooks.
- Pro: $94/month, or $78.30/month billed yearly. 30,000 contacts, 90,000 emails, CRM access, API and webhooks.
- Unlimited Smart: $174/month, or $144.50/month billed yearly. Unlimited contacts, 150,000 emails, 50,000 verified prospect emails included.
- Unlimited Prime: $379/month, or $314.60/month billed yearly. 500,000 emails, three dedicated servers, three client workspaces, a dedicated manager.
Annual billing saves 17%. Verified prospect emails from SmartProspect are a $59/month add-on on Base and Pro. Every plan has a free trial with no credit card, but the pricing page does not say how long it lasts. There is no long-term contract.
Pros
- Unlimited mailboxes and warmup from $39 a month
- Agency features (workspaces, whitelabel, dedicated IPs) are built in or a click away
- Monthly or annual billing with no lock-in
- Inbox placement testing available in the same account
Cons
- Base has no API, webhooks or CRM access, and only 6,000 emails a month
- Several important pieces are paid add-ons
- Trial length is not published
Who it is for: lead generation agencies and high-volume teams that want to manage many clients and mailboxes from one account.
Who should skip it: a single founder who wants the simplest possible setup, or a team that needs LinkedIn automation.
lemlist
lemlist is a multichannel outreach tool. Email is one channel; LinkedIn, calls, SMS and WhatsApp are the others, and they all run in the same sequence with conditions such as "if the invite was accepted, send a LinkedIn message; if not, send an email."
Key features
- Multichannel sequences with conditions on opens, clicks, accepted invites and more.
- LinkedIn steps (Multichannel plan): profile visits, connection invites with or without a note, chat messages, voice messages, AI voice messages, InMail from a LinkedIn Premium sender, and withdrawing pending invites. It works with free LinkedIn and with Sales Navigator.
- lemwarm warmup and a Deliverability Hub on every plan, with inbox rotation, in-app domain and mailbox purchase, DNS checks and alerts on bounce and spam rates.
- A built-in lead database. lemlist says it has 650M+ leads, with filters for tech stack, funding, revenue, hiring and intent signals.
- Waterfall email and phone finding. lemlist's own information page puts the price at $0.05 per verified email and $0.20 per verified phone number, and credits are only spent on successful results.
Pricing
- Email plan: priced by monthly email volume, with unlimited users and email senders. 50,000 emails cost $69/month, $62 billed quarterly or $55 billed yearly. 100,000 emails cost $89 ($71 yearly), 200,000 cost $159 ($127 yearly), 500,000 cost $359 ($287 yearly) and 1,000,000 cost $659 ($527 yearly). No LinkedIn steps.
- Multichannel: $109 per user per month, or $87 billed yearly. Unlimited emails and messages, five senders per user, LinkedIn, SMS and a built-in dialer. WhatsApp is an add-on.
- Enterprise: custom pricing, with custom roles, a dedicated account manager and advanced login security.
Quarterly billing saves 10% and yearly saves 20%. Data credits are an add-on from $20/month for 2,000 credits ($16 yearly), and buying intent signals from $29/month for 100 signals ($21 yearly). Unused credits roll over while you stay subscribed. The 14-day trial includes Multichannel features and 200 credits.
LinkedIn limits: lemlist's help center recommends 20 invites, 30 profile visits and 30 messages a day, and about 100 to 110 LinkedIn actions a day in total. It also notes LinkedIn caps invites at roughly 100 per rolling week. LinkedIn accounts are connected through lemlist's Chrome extension and your browser session.
Pros
- Email, LinkedIn, calls, SMS and WhatsApp in one sequence
- The Email plan has unlimited users and senders, so it can be cheap at scale
- Warmup and deliverability monitoring included on every plan
- Lead database with pay-per-result enrichment
Cons
- LinkedIn requires the per-user Multichannel plan
- Data credits and intent signals cost extra after the trial
- LinkedIn automation depends on the Chrome extension and your LinkedIn session
Who it is for: sales teams and founders who want email and LinkedIn working together, or who want unlimited senders on a volume-priced email plan.
Who should skip it: teams that only send email and want the lowest entry price, since the Email plan starts at $69/month.
Woodpecker
Woodpecker prices by how many people you contact each month, not by mailboxes or users. That makes it cheap to start, and it includes unlimited team members, unlimited email accounts and free email verification on every tier.
Key features
- Free warmups (two at the entry tier, more as you grow) and free catch-all email verification.
- Inbox rotation, adaptive sending, a deliverability monitor, ESP matching and a domain audit.
- Condition-based campaigns that can mix email, LinkedIn (add-on) and calls.
- A centralized inbox with AI interest-level detection.
- Agency Panel add-on with separate client databases, view-only client access and whitelabel.
Pricing
There is one plan, priced by contacted prospects per month. Emails per month are 16 times the prospect count.
- 500 prospects: $35/month, or $280/year (about $23.33/month). 8,000 emails, 2 warmups, 100 Lead Finder credits.
- 2,000 prospects: $67/month, or $536/year (about $44.67/month). 32,000 emails, 6 warmups.
- 4,000 prospects: $99/month, or $792/year ($66/month). 64,000 emails, 10 warmups.
- 10,000 prospects: $188/month, or $1,504/year. 160,000 emails, 20 warmups.
Tiers continue up to 1,000,000 prospects, and an Unlimited plan costs $9,999/month. Annual billing saves up to 33%. Add-ons include LinkedIn at $29/month per LinkedIn account, extra warmups at $5/month each, and integrations, API, webhooks and MCP at $20/month. The trial lasts 14 days or 100 emails, whichever comes first, with no card. Prices exclude VAT.
Pros
- Lowest entry price in this group
- Unlimited users and email accounts on every tier
- Free catch-all verification
- The trial can be extended through chat
Cons
- API, webhooks and CRM integrations are a paid add-on
- Only two free warmups at the entry tier
- The same person in five campaigns counts as five contacted prospects
Who it is for: small teams and consultants who send carefully to a few hundred or a few thousand people a month.
Who should skip it: high-volume senders running many mailboxes, where warmup add-ons and prospect-based pricing add up.
Mailshake
Mailshake is one of the older cold email tools. Its plans are simple, warmup and verification are included everywhere, and its top plan adds a power dialer for teams that call as well as email.
Key features
- Unlimited email warmup and unlimited email verification on every plan.
- Email rotation, a unified inbox (Lead Catcher) and CRM integrations with Salesforce, Pipedrive and HubSpot from the Email Outreach plan.
- Power dialer with five phone numbers and unlimited free minutes to North American numbers on Sales Engagement.
- AI email writer and A/B testing.
- Data Finder add-on for prospect emails, and a ready-to-use mailboxes add-on.
Pricing
- Starter: $29/month, or $25/month billed yearly. 1 email address, 1,500 sends a month.
- Email Outreach: $49/month, or $45/month billed yearly. 2 email addresses, unlimited sends, rotation and unified inbox.
- Sales Engagement: $99/month, or $85/month billed yearly. 10 email addresses, the power dialer and 2,500 data finder credits.
- Agency: contact sales, with unlimited email addresses.
Data Finder costs $19/month ($17 yearly) and ready-to-use mailboxes $12/month ($11 yearly). Mailshake's FAQ says billing is based on the number of users you buy and that each paid user can connect one mail account, while the plan cards list email addresses per account, so confirm the exact unit with Mailshake before you buy. There is no free trial: payment is taken up front.
Pros
- Low entry price
- Warmup and verification included on every plan
- Built-in power dialer with North American minutes on Sales Engagement
Cons
- No free trial
- Few mailboxes per plan compared with flat-fee tools
- No LinkedIn automation on the pricing page
- The billing unit (user or account) is not clearly stated
Who it is for: small sales teams that send moderate volume and also make calls.
Who should skip it: anyone who wants to spread volume across many mailboxes, or who wants to try before paying.
Saleshandy
Saleshandy merged its email outreach and Lead Finder products into one Platform Plan in 2026. Every plan now includes unlimited mailboxes, unlimited warmup and a monthly allowance of lead data credits.
Key features
- Unlimited connected mailboxes and warmup on every plan, with sender rotation.
- Lead Finder database. Saleshandy says it has 852M+ contacts and 42M+ companies. One credit reveals a verified email; a phone number costs six.
- Multichannel sequences with email, calls, WhatsApp and manual tasks.
- Unified inbox, spintax, AI sequence writing and A/B tests.
- Lookalike domains and pre-configured mailboxes from $2.99 per mailbox per month (annual), plus $14 per domain per year.
Pricing
- Starter: $41/month, or $34/month billed yearly ($408/year). 1 user, 2,000 active prospects, 6,000 emails, 1,500 Lead Finder credits a month.
- Pro: $99/month, or $76/month billed yearly ($912/year). Up to 10 users, 30,000 active prospects, 100,000 emails, 4,000 credits, CRM integrations and webhooks.
- Scale: $189/month, or $149/month billed yearly ($1,788/year). Unlimited users and active prospects (under a fair use policy), 200,000 emails, 8,000 credits, whitelabel. Higher Scale tiers cost $299/month ($239 yearly) for 300,000 emails and $599/month ($479 yearly) for 600,000.
Quarterly billing is also available. Lead Finder credits reset each cycle and do not roll over; annual plans get the full year's credits up front. Top-up credits start at $13 for 500. The 7-day trial needs no card and caps sending at 100 emails.
Pros
- Lead data included in every plan
- Unlimited mailboxes and warmup from $34 a month (yearly)
- Pro covers ten users with no per-seat fee
- Whitelabel for agencies on Scale
Cons
- Starter is one user and 6,000 emails a month
- CRM integrations start on Pro
- The shortest trial in this group
Who it is for: small teams that want cold email and a lead database in one low-cost plan.
Who should skip it: teams that already pay for a data tool and only need sending, or teams that need deep LinkedIn automation.
Reply.io
Reply.io is a sales engagement platform with several plan families: Email Volume for email-only sending, Multichannel for email plus LinkedIn and calls, Jason AI SDR for autonomous outbound, and Agency plans.
Key features
- Multichannel sequences with email, LinkedIn, calls, SMS and WhatsApp tasks.
- Unlimited mailboxes on Email Volume, subject to a fair use policy (25 mailboxes per 1,000 active contacts), with warmup included with every mailbox.
- LinkedIn automation: connection requests, messages, InMails, attachments, voice messages, likes, follows and endorsements. Reply's help center caps LinkedIn interactions at 100 actions per day per type.
- Live Data B2B search (Reply says 1 billion contacts), billed in Reply credits.
- Jason AI SDR, CRM integrations with HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive, and an agency dashboard.
Pricing
- Email Volume: priced by active contacts (unique people who get at least one step in a month). 1,000 contacts cost $59 per user per month, or $49 billed yearly; 2,000 cost $69 ($59 yearly); 3,000 cost $79 ($69 yearly); 5,000 cost $99 ($89 yearly). From 10,000 contacts the price covers unlimited users: $179/month ($159 yearly) for 10,000, up to $999/month ($899 yearly) for 100,000. LinkedIn is $69/month per account and calls and SMS $29/month per account.
- Multichannel: $99 per user per month, or $89 billed yearly. Unlimited active contacts, one LinkedIn account per user, calls and SMS included. The page shows 5 mailboxes per user on the monthly card and 10 on the annual card; extra mailboxes cost $29/month each.
- Jason AI SDR: from $500/month billed yearly.
- Agency: from $166/month.
Annual billing saves up to 17%. Email Volume and Multichannel include 50 Reply credits a month. Credits are spent at 1 per contact with only a LinkedIn profile, 2 with an email and 3 with a phone number. Extra AI and data credits cost $39/month for 200 up to $599/month for 10,000. Email validation is separate, from $20/month. The trial lasts 14 days; Reply's help center says trial accounts get two mailboxes and up to 200 emails a day per mailbox.
Pros
- Multichannel plan bundles LinkedIn, calls and SMS
- Email Volume allows many mailboxes under fair use
- Data search and an AI SDR in the same platform
- Agency plans with client workspaces
Cons
- Per-user pricing on the smaller tiers adds up for teams
- LinkedIn costs $69/month per account on Email Volume
- Only 50 data credits a month included
- Several plan families make it harder to compare
Who it is for: sales teams that want email, LinkedIn and calls under one per-user price, and teams curious about an AI SDR.
Who should skip it: solo senders who only need email and want a flat fee.
Deliverability and Warmup
All seven tools include warmup, but they differ in how much it covers and what else they give you to stay out of spam.
- Unlimited warmup for unlimited mailboxes: Instantly, Smartlead and Saleshandy. lemlist includes lemwarm on all plans. Reply.io includes warmup with every mailbox, and Mailshake includes unlimited warmup.
- Warmup limited by tier: Woodpecker includes a set number of free warmups per tier (2 at 500 prospects, 6 at 2,000, 10 at 4,000) and charges $5/month for each extra one.
- Monitoring and testing: Instantly adds a Deliverability AI agent and AI blocklist triggers on Hypergrowth and up. Smartlead sells SmartDelivery inbox placement testing from $49/month. lemlist lists deliverability testing, inbox placement monitoring and alerts on bounce and spam rates. Reply.io lists Google Postmaster integration and an email health check.
- Dedicated infrastructure: Instantly's SISR (dedicated server and IP rotation) comes with Light Speed ($358/month). Smartlead sells dedicated servers at $39 each per month, and Woodpecker at $59 each per month.
- Mailbox buying: Instantly, Smartlead, lemlist, Woodpecker, Saleshandy, Reply.io and Mailshake all sell domains or mailboxes in some form, which saves DNS setup but adds a monthly cost per mailbox.
Warmup is only one part of deliverability. lemlist's own guidance is a good benchmark: start new mailboxes at 10 to 15 cold emails a day, add about 5 a week, cap at 25 to 30, and keep warmup plus campaigns at or below 50 emails a day per mailbox. Those numbers are why serious senders spread volume across many mailboxes, and why per-mailbox pricing matters.
Mailbox Limits and How Each Tool Bills
| Tool | Mailboxes | Main limit you pay for |
|---|---|---|
| Instantly | Unlimited | Emails and uploaded contacts per month |
| Smartlead | Unlimited | Emails and stored contacts per month |
| lemlist | Unlimited senders (Email plan); 5 per user (Multichannel) | Emails per month (Email) or users (Multichannel) |
| Woodpecker | Unlimited (warmups limited by tier) | Contacted prospects per month |
| Mailshake | 1, 2 or 10 per plan | Plan and users |
| Saleshandy | Unlimited | Active prospects and emails per month |
| Reply.io | Unlimited under fair use (Email Volume); 5 or 10 per user (Multichannel) | Active contacts and users |
If you plan to run many mailboxes, the flat-fee tools (Instantly, Smartlead, Saleshandy and lemlist's Email plan) keep the price steady as you add inboxes. Mailshake is the one where adding mailboxes means moving to a bigger plan or buying more seats.
Pricing at 5 and 20 Mailboxes
These examples use list prices from each vendor's pricing page. To make them comparable we assume each mailbox sends about 30 cold emails a day on about 22 working days, the upper end of lemlist's guidance above:
- 5 mailboxes: 5 x 30 x 22 = 3,300 emails a month, to about 1,000 new prospects.
- 20 mailboxes: 20 x 30 x 22 = 13,200 emails a month, to about 4,000 new prospects.
Prices are monthly billing, with the yearly-billed monthly rate in brackets. They cover sending only, not lead data or LinkedIn.
| Tool | 5 mailboxes | 20 mailboxes |
|---|---|---|
| Instantly | Growth: $47 ($37.60) | Hypergrowth: $97 ($77.60) |
| Smartlead | Base: $39 ($32.50) | Pro: $94 ($78.30) |
| lemlist (Email plan) | 50,000 emails: $69 ($55) | 50,000 emails: $69 ($55) |
| Woodpecker | 2,000 prospects: $67 (about $44.67) | 4,000 prospects: $99 ($66) + 10 extra warmups at $5 = $149 ($116) |
| Mailshake | Sales Engagement: $99 ($85) | 2 x Sales Engagement: $198 ($170) |
| Saleshandy | Starter: $41 ($34) | Pro: $99 ($76) |
| Reply.io (Email Volume, 1 user) | 1,000 contacts: $59 ($49) | 5,000 contacts: $99 ($89) |
How the numbers work:
- Instantly: 3,300 emails and 1,000 contacts fit Growth's 5,000 emails and 1,000 contacts, with no room to spare on contacts. 13,200 emails go past Growth's 5,000, so you need Hypergrowth.
- Smartlead: Base allows 6,000 emails and 2,000 contacts, enough for five mailboxes. At 13,200 emails you need Pro (90,000).
- lemlist: the Email plan's smallest tier is 50,000 emails with unlimited senders, so the price is the same at 5 and 20 mailboxes. That makes it the cheapest option at 20 mailboxes in this example, but you get no LinkedIn steps on this plan.
- Woodpecker: 1,000 prospects need the 2,000 tier (6 warmups included, enough for 5 mailboxes). 4,000 prospects fit the 4,000 tier, which includes 10 warmups; the other 10 mailboxes cost $5 each to warm.
- Mailshake: Starter and Email Outreach allow 1 and 2 addresses, so 5 mailboxes need Sales Engagement (10 addresses), and 20 need two of them. If Mailshake bills per user rather than per account, the cost could differ; ask Mailshake.
- Saleshandy: Starter's 6,000 emails and 2,000 active prospects cover five mailboxes. 13,200 emails need Pro.
- Reply.io: 25 mailboxes per 1,000 active contacts are allowed under fair use, so mailboxes are not the limit. 4,000 contacts need the 5,000 tier.
If you also need LinkedIn for one person, add $69/month on Reply.io Email Volume (or switch to Multichannel at $99/user), $29/month per account on Woodpecker, or move to lemlist Multichannel at $109/user. Instantly, Smartlead, Mailshake and Saleshandy do not list LinkedIn automation as a plan feature.
Lead Data and LinkedIn: What Comes Built In
Most cold email tools now sell contact data too, so you may not need a separate prospecting tool for small lists.
- Instantly: SuperSearch (450M+ B2B contacts, vendor claim), on a separate Credits subscription from $9/month. Credits expire after two months on monthly billing.
- Smartlead: SmartProspect verified prospect emails, a $59/month add-on on Base and Pro and included on Unlimited Smart (50,000) and Prime (170,000).
- lemlist: 650M+ lead database (vendor claim) with waterfall enrichment, credit add-on from $20/month for 2,000 credits. Unused credits roll over while subscribed.
- Woodpecker: Lead Finder credits included per tier (100 at the entry tier), extra packs from $10 for 500.
- Saleshandy: the most generous included data: 1,500 to 8,000 credits a month, at 1 credit per verified email.
- Reply.io: Live Data (1 billion contacts, vendor claim) with 50 credits a month included; more from $39/month for 200.
- Mailshake: Data Finder add-on at $19/month, with 50 to 2,500 credits included depending on plan.
For LinkedIn, only lemlist (Multichannel), Reply.io (Multichannel, or a $69 add-on) and Woodpecker (a $29 add-on) list automated LinkedIn steps on their pricing pages. If LinkedIn is central to your outreach, see our dedicated guide to LinkedIn automation tools.
How to Choose
- Count your mailboxes. If you will run more than a few, pick a flat-fee tool: Instantly, Smartlead, Saleshandy or lemlist's Email plan. Avoid tools where each mailbox means another plan or seat.
- Estimate your monthly volume. Multiply mailboxes by about 30 emails a day and 22 days. Compare that to each plan's email and contact limits, not just the price.
- Decide whether you need LinkedIn. If yes, shortlist lemlist and Reply.io. If it is an occasional touch, Woodpecker's $29 add-on may be enough.
- Decide whether you need data. If you have no list source, Saleshandy includes the most credits in the base price. Instantly, lemlist and Reply.io sell data as an add-on.
- Check the API and integrations line. Smartlead Base, Woodpecker (without the $20 add-on) and Saleshandy Starter do not include CRM integrations.
- Use the trial. Instantly, Woodpecker and lemlist offer 14 days, Saleshandy 7. Mailshake has no trial, so ask for a demo instead.
- Run agency work? Smartlead and Woodpecker have dedicated agency features; Saleshandy Scale and Reply.io Agency plans do too.
Conclusion
For most teams starting or scaling cold email, Instantly is the safest choice: unlimited mailboxes and warmup from $47/month, a shared inbox, mailboxes you can buy in the app and optional lead data. Smartlead is a very close alternative and the better pick for agencies. lemlist is the one to choose if LinkedIn belongs in your sequences, and its Email plan is surprisingly cheap at higher mailbox counts. Reply.io suits teams that want LinkedIn and calls bundled per user. Saleshandy gives the most lead data for the money, Woodpecker is the cheapest way to start at low volume, and Mailshake fits small teams that also want a dialer and do not need many mailboxes.
