Starting prices are the lowest paid plan, checked on each vendor's pricing page in October 2026. G2 ratings are shown only when we confirmed them.

A fitness studio's software does more than put classes on a calendar. It sells the intro offer, bills memberships every month, runs the waitlist when the 6 a.m. class fills, charges the late-cancel fee, checks people in at the door and, ideally, brings in new members. If any of that breaks, you feel it in revenue the same week.

This guide compares six platforms built for class-based fitness businesses: Mindbody, Glofox (now marketed as ABC Glofox), Mariana Tek (part of Xplor), Zen Planner, Wodify and PushPress. They cover boutique studios (yoga, pilates, barre, cycling, HIIT), CrossFit and functional gyms, and martial arts schools. We compared each vendor's published plans, pricing pages, feature pages and FAQs in October 2026. Where a vendor sells by quote, we say so and do not guess a number.

What matters most for this use case:

  • Class scheduling and waitlists. Recurring class templates, capacity limits, automatic waitlist promotion, spot booking for reformer or bike studios, and late-cancel and no-show fees.
  • Memberships and billing. Recurring memberships, class packs, intro offers, failed-payment retries and pro-rated billing.
  • The member app. Every platform here has a member app. The question is whether you get your own branded app in the App Store, and what it costs.
  • New-member acquisition. Only one platform here has a consumer marketplace of its own (Mindbody). Several connect to ClassPass and Wellhub.
  • Payment processing. For most studios the processing rate costs more over a year than the software subscription. Some vendors publish rates, some do not.
  • Setup fees and contracts. Some charge onboarding fees, some do not; some are month-to-month.
  • Published pricing vs quote. Three of the six publish prices. Three sell by quote.

Mindbody

Mindbody is the largest platform in this group and covers fitness, wellness and beauty businesses. Its pricing page says it is trusted by 40k+ businesses. Mindbody's parent company is Playlist. For fitness studios the main reasons to pick it are reach and breadth: it handles classes, appointments, memberships, payments and marketing, and it lists your studio on the Mindbody consumer app.

Strengths for fitness studios

The Mindbody app is the only built-in consumer marketplace among the six tools here. Mindbody says 3M+ consumers search it every month, and a listing is included on every plan. Listing is free. A fee applies only when the app delivers a client who is new to your business: 20% of the first purchase, capped at $30. Existing clients, clients who came through a tracked referral link, and every booking after the first carry no fee.

Scheduling covers classes, appointments or a mix, managed from one screen. When a class reaches capacity, clients are offered the waitlist, and the next waitlisted client is moved onto the roster automatically when someone cancels. Late-cancel and no-show fees (or visit deductions) are applied automatically under your policy. Schedule changes sync across your website, the branded app, the Mindbody app and Mindbody's Affiliate Network, and Mindbody lists a ClassPass integration.

Plans and feature gates

  • Starter: from $79/month per location (Mindbody quotes this for North America and Asia). Business management tools, integrated payments, branded website booking widgets, a customized website, a Mindbody app listing, basic reporting, unlimited users, and unlimited email confirmations and reminders.
  • Accelerate: by quote. Adds advanced reporting, room and resource management, Pick-a-Spot, promo codes, unlimited text confirmations and reminders, and access to add-ons such as AI Concierge and the branded app.
  • Ultimate: by quote. Adds automated email and text marketing campaigns with a monthly text bundle, a lead management dashboard and sales pipeline, AI Concierge (a 24/7 AI front desk for missed calls) and deeper analytics. The branded app is still an add-on.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing for multi-location and franchise businesses.

The gates that matter: text reminders and Pick-a-Spot start on Accelerate, and the branded app is not available on Starter at all. A cycling or reformer studio that needs spot booking should budget for Accelerate.

Payments and fees

Mindbody Payments charges a processing rate plus a fixed fee of $0.10 to $0.30 per transaction (North America and Asia). The percentage rate is not published on the pricing page; it varies by card-present vs card-not-present and payment type. You can use a third-party processor instead. Mindbody says there is no onboarding fee on any plan and includes one-on-one setup and 24/7 support. Data transfer from your old system may carry fees, and premium implementation is priced separately. Contract length depends on the plan and promotion you sign.

Pros

  • The only built-in consumer marketplace here, with a capped new-client fee
  • Published entry price, unlimited users per location and no onboarding fee
  • Covers classes, appointments, rooms and multi-location in one system
  • Automatic waitlists and late-cancel or no-show fees

Cons

  • Accelerate and Ultimate are by quote, so the real price needs a sales call
  • Text reminders and Pick-a-Spot need Accelerate; the branded app is an add-on not offered on Starter
  • Card processing percentage is not published
  • G2 rating (3.8) is the lowest among the larger vendors here

Who should use it: yoga, pilates, barre and boutique studios that want new clients from a marketplace and a single system that scales to several locations. Who should skip it: small CrossFit or martial arts gyms that mainly need billing and attendance and want a fully published price list.

Glofox

Glofox is owned by ABC Fitness, and its site now presents the product as ABC Glofox. It is built for class-led businesses: gyms, pilates, yoga, cycling, boxing, PT studios and martial arts. Glofox says it is trusted by 30,000+ studios and gyms.

Strengths for fitness studios

Scheduling is strong for boutique formats. You set up recurring classes, courses, workshops, appointments and facility bookings (saunas, courts) in one calendar, with capacity limits, booking windows and cancellation policies per class. Members can choose a spot from an interactive room map, and dynamic waitlists fill cancelled spots automatically. No-show and late-cancel fees are applied automatically with a staff review window. Reminders go out by email and SMS. Family bookings and book-a-friend are supported.

The branded app is the headline. With the standalone branded app, your studio is listed as the publisher in the Apple App Store and Google Play, with your logo, colors and app icon. Members book, pay (including Apple Pay and Google Pay), check in with a barcode, buy retail and read community content. Door access works through Kisi and Gantner integrations.

For lead generation, Glofox connects to ClassPass, Gympass and Wellhub so members of those platforms can book your classes. It does not run its own consumer marketplace, and its branded app page frames the app as built around your brand, "not a third-party marketplace".

Billing and payments

Glofox handles recurring, fixed-term, single and credit-pack memberships, pro-rated billing, scheduled price changes, pauses, joining fees, maintenance fees and promo codes. Failed payments are retried on a configurable schedule, cards are refreshed with an automated card updater, and payment links go out by email or SMS. Glofox Payments takes card, debit, ACH and digital wallets. It also integrates with Stripe, GoCardless and other regional providers. Processing rates are not published.

Pricing

The Glofox pricing page is a quote form ("Get a price quote") that asks for business type and number of locations. No plan names or prices are published, and setup fees are not listed.

Pros

  • Spot booking, dynamic waitlists and automatic no-show fees
  • Standalone branded app published under your studio's name
  • ClassPass, Gympass and Wellhub integrations for extra bookings
  • Strong G2 rating (4.5)

Cons

  • Pricing by quote only, with no published plans
  • Processing rates and any setup fees are not published
  • No built-in consumer marketplace
  • Some G2 reviewers mention price increases and reporting limits

Who should use it: single and multi-location boutique studios that want a polished branded app and spot booking. Who should skip it: owners who want to compare published prices before talking to sales.

Mariana Tek

Mariana Tek is part of Xplor, and its site brands it as Xplor Mariana Tek. It targets boutique studios that want a premium, branded client experience: pilates (including Lagree and Megaformer), yoga, indoor cycling, HIIT and bootcamp, barre and group fitness, from single studios to multi-location brands.

Strengths for fitness studios

Every package includes custom-branded iOS and Android apps, a business app for staff, kiosk check-in, and waivers and forms. All customers get multi-location management from one login, an unlimited class schedule and instructors, flexible pricing set-up for intro offers, packs and memberships, CRM, reporting and transactional emails. The platform supports class scheduling with custom floor plans, waitlist management and appointments.

Payment processing is simple to model: Mariana Tek partners with Stripe and charges Stripe's standard flat rate for all purchases regardless of card type, and says it takes nothing on top.

Packages

  • Core: for single locations getting started. The platform plus custom-branded apps, Biz App, kiosk check-in, waivers and forms.
  • Core + Growth: the most popular package. Adds email and SMS marketing automation, two-way texting, and landing pages and forms (the Xplor Growth marketing suite).
  • Full Growth Bundle: adds gamification (challenges and milestones), a feedback suite and a custom marketing plan.

All three are by demo and quote. The site currently advertises a switching offer: move to Mariana Tek and get your first three months free. Onboarding typically takes five to eight weeks, with onboarding specialists and a demo environment.

Pros

  • Custom-branded apps on every package, not an add-on
  • Built for multi-location boutique brands
  • Stripe processing at Stripe's standard rate with no markup
  • Gamification and marketing services on higher packages

Cons

  • Pricing by quote only
  • Five to eight week onboarding is long if you need to switch fast
  • No built-in consumer marketplace
  • Only six reviews on G2 (3.3), so there is little review data

Who should use it: established boutique brands, especially multi-location pilates, cycling and barre studios, that care about a premium app experience. Who should skip it: martial arts schools, CrossFit gyms and new single-studio owners on a tight budget.

Zen Planner

Zen Planner is owned by Daxko and has served fitness businesses since 2006, when it was started by a martial arts school owner. It says it serves 5,000+ customers. It fits martial arts schools, CrossFit and functional gyms, and mixed-program studios, and it publishes its prices.

Strengths for fitness studios

The pricing model is the standout: you pay only for active members. An active member is anyone with a membership or who has attended an event in the past month. Prospects, staff, alumni and pay-per-session attendees are never counted, and the bill adjusts each month automatically.

Every package includes membership management, online scheduling and booking, member self-service, attendance tracking, belt and skill tracking, billing and payment processing, staff and member mobile apps, payroll, reporting and a SugarWOD integration. Belt tracking makes it a natural fit for martial arts. Classes have size limits and an automatic waitlist: when someone cancels, the next person on the waitlist can take the spot, and members can be told by email or text. The package comparison lists a dedicated onboarding specialist and done-for-you data migration, and onboarding sessions are free.

  • Ultimate: Essentials plus Zen Planner Engage (marketing automation, CRM, AI-powered email and text campaigns, lead management).
  • New Business Bundle: from $199/month. For new gyms; includes Essentials plus the branded member app.

Add-ons: a branded mobile app at $39/month and EMV card readers at $39/month. Zen Planner Payments is custom pricing; Zen Planner works with preferred processors including its in-house Daxko Payments and says there is no setup or gateway fee with select preferred processors. Zen Planner runs month-to-month, with an annual contract available on request. Multi-location pricing is by quote.

Pros

  • Published prices, billed only on active members
  • Month-to-month with free onboarding and data migration
  • Belt and skill tracking for martial arts
  • Branded app is a low-cost add-on ($39/month)

Cons

  • Payment processing rates are not published (custom pricing)
  • Marketing automation needs Ultimate, from $348/month
  • No consumer marketplace
  • Some G2 reviewers mention rising costs and a learning curve

Who should use it: martial arts schools, CrossFit boxes and mixed-program gyms that want predictable, published pricing. Who should skip it: boutique studios that need spot booking or marketplace exposure.

Wodify

Wodify is built for CrossFit and functional fitness, and also markets to jiu-jitsu, martial arts, HYROX affiliates, HIIT, small-group training and yoga and pilates studios. It says it is trusted by 5,000+ gyms. Its standout is performance tracking: workout building, scores and progress tracking, plus heart-rate tracking as an add-on.

Strengths for fitness studios

Every plan includes class and appointment scheduling, billing and client management, automated waitlist management, digital waivers and contracts, a single app for clients and coaches, unlimited clients and employees, texting, and an inbox for email, SMS and in-app messages. The plan comparison also lists progressions and belt tracking for martial arts and jiu-jitsu. Integrations include ClassPass, Wellhub, QuickBooks and Facebook Leads, so ClassPass users can find you even without a Wodify marketplace.

Plans and pricing

Wodify publishes list prices and is running a promotion: new customers who book a demo by October 31, 2026 save $100 a month, which the site describes as "for life".

  • Essentials: $199/month list ($99/month with the promotion). Billing, scheduling, client management, digital waivers and contracts, one app for clients and staff, 2 automations.
  • Accelerate: $299/month list ($199/month). Adds lead management, insights dashboards, family groups and shared payments, pre-built automations and email campaigns, an on-demand media library and 15 automations.
  • Ultimate: $499/month list ($399/month). Adds Wodify Perform (performance tracking), a custom website, unlimited automations, 1-day payouts and Wodify's lowest processing rates.

Performance tracking, custom websites and unlimited automations are add-ons on lower plans. The branded app, 24/7 access control, the workout marketplace and heart-rate tracking are add-ons on every plan. Add-on prices are not listed on the pricing page.

Wodify charges a "small onboarding fee" (amount not published). There are no long-term contracts; service is month-to-month. Wodify Payments rates vary by package and country, from as low as 2.7% + 30¢ for cards and 1.5% + 30¢ for ACH, with no monthly processing fees.

Pros

  • The most complete workout and performance tracking here for CrossFit-style gyms
  • Published list prices and month-to-month terms
  • Automated waitlists and unlimited clients and staff on every plan
  • High G2 rating (4.7)

Cons

  • Onboarding fee, amount not published
  • Performance tracking needs Ultimate or a paid add-on
  • Branded app is an add-on with no published price
  • List prices are high without the promotion, which ends October 31, 2026

Who should use it: CrossFit, HYROX and strength gyms where members log workouts and scores. Who should skip it: yoga, pilates and barre studios that do not need workout tracking and would pay for features they will not use.

PushPress

PushPress serves CrossFit gyms, martial arts academies, strength and conditioning, small-group and personal training, and sports performance. It is the only platform here with a free plan.

Strengths for fitness studios

All plans include unlimited members, staff, leads and admins, a members app, a staff app with kiosk mode, a TV screens app for class check-ins, rank tracking for martial arts, priority class booking for premium members, pro-rated billing, plan purchase limits (to stop repeat free trials), an automatic waitlist, appointments for personal training, events, digital documents and waivers, and basic workout programming (Train Lite). Integrations include Stripe, Mailchimp, Zapier, Google Calendar, Slack and Facebook pixel tracking, and there is a public API.

Plans and pricing

  • Free: $0, no monthly fees. Card processing 4.99% + 30¢, ACH 2.89% + 30¢. Self-serve and AI support with a 48-hour response time for human help.
  • Pro: $159/month. Card processing 2.89% + 30¢, ACH 0.79% + 30¢. Live human support and video support calls.
  • Max: $229/month. Card processing 2.75% + 30¢, ACH 0.79% + 30¢.

Add-ons: Train (workout tracking) $79/month for up to 20 clients; Grow (CRM with automated workflows, email and SMS, and websites) $329/month; Branded App $97/month. PushPress's FAQ lists a Full Stack bundle at about $559/month. Prices are in USD; no annual billing, trial or setup fee is listed on the pricing page.

Pros

  • $0 plan with unlimited members, staff and leads
  • Processing rates published for every plan
  • Rank tracking, priority booking and plan purchase limits included
  • Very high G2 rating

Cons

  • 4.99% + 30¢ card rate on the free plan is costly once revenue grows
  • Marketing (Grow) and the branded app add up to $426/month on top of Core
  • No consumer marketplace or spot booking for boutique studios listed
  • Some reviewers want stronger reporting

Who should use it: new or small CrossFit, martial arts and personal training gyms that want to start at $0 and upgrade when processing volume justifies it. Who should skip it: boutique studios that need spot booking or marketplace exposure.

What It Costs: Three Realistic Examples

These examples use only the prices published on vendor sites in October 2026, before taxes. Processing is shown where vendors publish rates.

A CrossFit gym with 120 active members and $15,000 a month in card payments

Assume 120 card transactions a month (one membership charge per member).

  • PushPress Free: software $0. Processing: 4.99% of $15,000 = $748.50, plus 120 × $0.30 = $36. Total $784.50/month, or $9,414/year.
  • PushPress Pro: software $159. Processing: 2.89% of $15,000 = $433.50, plus $36. Total $628.50/month, or $7,542/year. Pro saves about $1,872 a year here, because the lower rate saves $315 a month on processing for a $159 fee. The break-even point is roughly $7,600 a month in card volume ($159 divided by the 2.1-point rate difference).
  • Zen Planner Studio (101-150 active members): $229/month = $2,748/year in software, plus Zen Planner Payments at custom pricing. Add the branded app ($39/month) for $3,216/year.
  • Wodify Essentials: $199/month list = $2,388/year, or $99/month = $1,188/year with the promotion (demo booked by October 31, 2026), plus the onboarding fee. Processing from 2.7% + 30¢ depending on plan; the lowest rates are on Ultimate ($499 list, $399 promo).

A yoga or pilates studio with three locations

  • Mindbody Starter: $79/month × 3 locations = $237/month, or $2,844/year, before processing. If you need text reminders, Pick-a-Spot or the branded app, you need Accelerate or higher, which is by quote.
  • Glofox and Mariana Tek: pricing by quote. Mariana Tek's current offer of three free months reduces the first-year cost, and its Stripe pass-through processing makes the processing cost easy to estimate.

A martial arts school with 60 active members that wants a website and branded app

  • Zen Planner Essentials (46-60 tier): $232/month plus branded app $39 = $271/month, or $3,252/year. A new school could start on the New Business Bundle from $199/month, which includes the website and branded app.
  • PushPress Pro + Branded App: $159 + $97 = $256/month, or $3,072/year, plus Grow ($329/month) if you want PushPress to host your website and run SMS marketing.

How to Choose

1. Start with your format. Boutique studios that sell intro offers and fill classes from new clients (yoga, pilates, barre, cycling) get the most from Mindbody, Glofox or Mariana Tek. CrossFit and strength gyms that track workouts should look at Wodify or PushPress. Martial arts schools should shortlist Zen Planner and PushPress for belt and rank tracking.

2. Decide how much you need new-client acquisition. Mindbody is the only platform with its own consumer marketplace. Glofox and Wodify connect to ClassPass and Wellhub, and Mindbody lists a ClassPass integration. If most of your members come from referrals and local ads, marketplace reach matters less.

3. Price the branded app. Mariana Tek includes branded apps in every package. Zen Planner charges $39/month and PushPress $97/month. Mindbody and Wodify sell it as an add-on (not on Mindbody Starter), and Glofox prices it in the quote.

4. Model processing, not just the subscription. Use your real monthly card volume. PushPress, Wodify (from rates) and Mariana Tek (Stripe standard rate) publish enough to estimate; for Mindbody, Glofox and Zen Planner, ask for the rate in writing during the demo.

5. Check the scheduling details you rely on. Spot booking for reformers or bikes (Mindbody Accelerate and up, Glofox, Mariana Tek), automatic waitlist promotion (all six), late-cancel and no-show fees, and priority booking for premium members (PushPress).

6. Ask about setup and terms. Mindbody lists no onboarding fee, and Zen Planner's onboarding is free. Wodify charges an onboarding fee. Zen Planner, Wodify and PushPress are month-to-month; Mindbody's terms depend on the plan you sign. Mariana Tek's onboarding takes five to eight weeks.

7. Get the quote for your size. Glofox, Mariana Tek and Mindbody's upper plans are priced by business type, member count and locations. Get at least two quotes before committing.

Final Recommendations

  • Most fitness studios: Mindbody. It covers the widest range of formats, publishes a starting price, has no onboarding fee, and is the only option with a built-in marketplace. Budget for Accelerate if you need text reminders or spot booking.
  • Boutique studios that want a branded app and spot booking: Glofox. Get a quote and compare it with Mindbody Accelerate.
  • Premium or multi-location boutique brands: Mariana Tek. Branded apps on every package and pass-through Stripe processing. Plan for a longer onboarding.
  • Martial arts and mixed-program gyms: Zen Planner. Published prices tied to active members and month-to-month terms.
  • CrossFit and performance gyms: Wodify. The strongest workout tracking here; book a demo by October 31, 2026 if you want the $100/month promotion.
  • New gyms on a tight budget: PushPress. Start on the free plan and move to Pro once your monthly card volume passes about $7,600.

Frequently asked questions

For most studios, Mindbody is the best all-round choice: it starts at $79 per month per location, has no onboarding fee, includes unlimited users, and lists your studio on the Mindbody consumer app. Glofox and Mariana Tek suit boutique studios that want a branded app, Zen Planner suits martial arts and mixed gyms, Wodify suits CrossFit gyms, and PushPress has a free plan.
