A social media scheduling tool lets you write posts once, place them on a calendar and have them published for you across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X and the rest. For a solo creator or a small business, that is most of what "social media management" means day to day. The hard part is choosing, because the seven tools in this guide price in completely different ways: per channel, per account, per brand, per "social set" or per flat plan. Two tools that both say "from $5" can end up nearly $40 a month apart once you add your real channels, a second user and approvals.
This guide compares Publer, Buffer, Metricool, SocialBee, Later, Loomly and Planoly for one job: planning and auto-publishing posts across networks at a fair price. We look at free plans, what each extra channel or user costs, post limits, which networks publish automatically and which only send you a reminder, what X (Twitter) costs, bulk scheduling, content recycling and approvals.
What Matters When Choosing a Scheduling Tool
These are the differences that change your bill and your week:
- How the price grows. Buffer charges per channel. Publer charges per social account plus per extra team member. Metricool charges by "brand" (one business with one profile per network). Later and Planoly sell "social sets" (one profile of each network). SocialBee and Loomly sell flat plans with a set number of profiles. Work out your own channel and user count before you compare starting prices.
- The free plan's real limits. Buffer, Publer, Metricool and Planoly have free plans, but each caps something different: number of channels, posts in the queue, posts per month, or which networks you can connect.
- Auto-publish versus reminders. Some networks or post types can only be "notification published": the tool sends a push notification to your phone and you post by hand. Planoly does this for X. Buffer does it for Instagram personal profiles and Facebook groups. SocialBee uses mobile reminders for networks such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Mastodon and Quora.
- X (Twitter) costs. X's API is expensive for software vendors, and it shows in pricing. Metricool charges $10 per month for each connected X account. Publer only allows X on paid plans. Later does not list X as a supported network, and Planoly only sends reminders for it.
- Post limits. Later's Starter plan allows 30 posts per profile per month. Free plans at Buffer and Publer allow 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time. Most paid plans are "unlimited" with a fair use cap.
- Bulk scheduling and recycling. If you plan a month at a time or reshare evergreen posts, look for CSV upload and recycling. Publer and SocialBee are strongest here.
- Approvals. If a second person writes posts and someone else signs off, check which plan includes approval workflows. It ranges from Publer's cheapest paid plan to Metricool's Advanced plan.
How We Compared
We compared each tool's plans, limits and documentation on the vendor's own website, checked in October 2026. We did not run hands-on tests of these tools for this guide, so you will not find timing claims or "I used it for a week" stories here. Where a feature or price could not be confirmed on the vendor's site, we left it out.
Comparison Table
| Tool | Starting price | Free plan / trial | Best for | Standout feature |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Buffer | $5/channel/month billed yearly ($6 monthly) | Free plan (3 channels); 14-day trial | Simple, affordable scheduling | Unlimited users on Team |

Prices checked October 2026 on each vendor's pricing page.
A quick guide to X support, since it changes the math for many readers:
| Tool | X (Twitter) |
|---|---|
| Publer | Paid plans only (not on Free), no separate fee listed |
| Buffer | Listed as a supported channel; no separate X fee on the pricing page |
| Metricool | Paid add-on, $10/month per connected X account (paid plans only) |
| SocialBee | Supported for posting and in the engagement inbox |
| Later | Not in Later's list of supported profiles |
| Loomly | Not in Loomly's listed integrations; ask Loomly if you need it |
| Planoly | Reminders only (you post manually) |
Publer: Best Overall for Most Small Teams
Publer is a scheduler priced per social account. It supports Facebook (profiles, pages, locations and groups), Instagram business and creator accounts, TikTok, X (paid plans only), Threads, LinkedIn profiles and pages, Pinterest, Mastodon, Google Business Profile, YouTube, Telegram, Bluesky and WordPress.
Key features for scheduling
- A drag-and-drop calendar, queue auto-scheduling and a feed preview for Instagram and TikTok.
- Bulk scheduling three ways: CSV import, a bulk uploader for media and a multi-post scheduler.
- Scheduled first comments and X threads, plus auto-share and auto-delete for posts.
- Approval workflows and unlimited workspaces with roles on paid plans, so you can keep each client or brand separate.
- On Business: post recycling, recurring posts and Spintax variations (one post written with variants, so repeats do not look identical), unlimited AI prompts, analytics and reports, best times to post, hashtag and competitor analysis, and API and MCP access.
Pricing
Publer's paid plans are priced per social account, plus a fee for each additional team member. The plan owner is included.
- Free: $0 forever. 1 user, 1 workspace, 3 social accounts (X cannot be connected), 10 scheduled posts at a time per account, 25 drafts and 24 hours of post history.
- Professional: $5 per month for 1 account. With 2 accounts, $4.50 each. With 3 or more accounts, $4 each per month. Extra members are $2 per month each. Unlimited scheduling and drafts, X, approval workflows, bulk scheduling, first comments and permanent post history. 7-day free trial.
- Business: $10 per month for 1 account. With 2 accounts, $8.50 each. With 3 or more, $7 each per month. Extra members are $3 per month each. Adds analytics, best times, recycling and the AI and API features above. 14-day free trial.
Publer says every 10th social account and every 10th additional member is free, but its price calculator applies this only on yearly billing: 10 accounts on Professional cost $40 a month on monthly billing, or $28.80 a month billed yearly (9 x $4, less 20%). Yearly billing is about 20% off the monthly price.
Pros
- Very low per-account pricing; every 10th account and member is free on yearly billing
- Usable free plan (3 accounts) without a card
- Wide network list including Telegram, Mastodon, Bluesky and WordPress
- Approval workflows already on the $5 Professional plan
Cons
- Analytics, best times and competitor analysis only on Business
- Free plan cannot connect X and keeps post history only 24 hours
- Price grows with every account and member, so totals need a calculator
- Unlimited posting still has daily limits to prevent spam (per Publer)
Who it's for
Publer is our top pick because it gives the most scheduling features per dollar for the readers this guide is written for. A solo business with 5 accounts pays $20 per month on monthly billing, and adding two teammates costs another $4. At that price you get X, approvals, bulk CSV scheduling, first comments and threads, which other tools put on higher tiers or charge extra for. The trade-off is analytics: if you want reports, best posting times or recycling, plan on the Business tier at $7 per account (3 or more accounts), which is still cheaper than most rivals for a 5-account setup. Skip Publer if you want one flat bill that never changes, or if analytics matter more to you than publishing, in which case Metricool is the better fit.
Buffer: Best for Simplicity and Growing Teams
Buffer is one of the best-known schedulers and the easiest to price. You pay per channel, and the plans are short and clearly published, including a machine-readable version of the pricing page.
Key features for scheduling
- Queue-based scheduling with a visual calendar, drafts, templates and reminders.
- First comment scheduling and a hashtag manager on paid plans.
- An AI Assistant to write, refine and repurpose posts, unlimited on all plans.
- A community inbox for replying to comments, with AI and saved replies.
Some channel types only support notification publishing: Buffer names Instagram personal profiles and Facebook groups as examples.
Pricing
- Free: $0. Up to 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time, 100 ideas, 1 user, 30 days of insights history and the community inbox.
- Essentials: $6 per channel per month on monthly billing for channels 1 to 10, or $5 per channel per month billed yearly. 1 user, unlimited scheduled posts (fair use cap of 5,000 per channel), advanced analytics, reports, hashtag manager and first comment scheduling.
- Team: $12 per channel per month on monthly billing for channels 1 to 10, or $10 per channel per month billed yearly. Unlimited team members, approval workflows, access levels and branded reports.
Buffer's own examples: 10 channels on Essentials cost $60 per month (or $50 billed yearly), and 25 channels on Team cost $180 per month (or $150 billed yearly). Paid plans come with a 14-day free trial, and if you do not add payment details you drop back to the Free plan.
Pros
- Real free plan (3 channels) and low entry price ($5 to $6 per channel)
- Team plan includes unlimited users, so cost does not grow with headcount
- Volume discounts make many channels cheaper per channel
- Simple pricing published in full
Cons
- Essentials is single-user; approvals and access levels need Team
- Free plan limits you to 10 scheduled posts per channel and 30 days of insights
- The community inbox handles comments; Buffer does not list DMs or social listening
- Some channel types (Instagram personal profiles, Facebook groups) are notification publishing only
Who it's for
Buffer is a good fit if you value a clean, predictable tool and expect your team to grow. The Team plan is the standout: because users are unlimited, a team of three pays the same as a team of ten. For one person with a handful of channels, Essentials is fair at $5 per channel billed yearly. Buffer costs more than Publer for the same 5 channels, and it does not list bulk CSV scheduling or recycling, so heavy batch planners should look at Publer or SocialBee instead.
Metricool: Best for Analytics on a Budget
Metricool combines a planner with analytics, competitor tracking and ads reporting, and its reporting goes deeper than most schedulers at this price. It prices by brand: one brand is one business or client, with one profile per social network or ad platform. Supported networks are Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, LinkedIn (paid plans), Google Business Profile and X (paid add-on), plus Facebook Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads and a website or blog.
Key features for scheduling
- A planner with best-time suggestions, autolists and RSS on every plan, poll and PDF scheduling from Starter, and recurring posts on Advanced.
- Analytics with unlimited history on paid plans, plus competitor analysis for up to 100 profiles.
- Ads reporting for Facebook Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads.
- A unified inbox for Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn (X with the add-on).
Pricing
- Free: $0 forever. 1 brand, all networks except LinkedIn and X, 20 scheduled posts per month, 5 competitor profiles, 30 days of analytics and 5 AI credits per brand per month.
- Starter: $20 per month billed annually or $25 monthly for up to 5 brands; $36 annually or $45 monthly for up to 10 brands. Unlimited publishing (fair use), LinkedIn, 100 competitors, PDF and PPT reports and unlimited analytics history.
- Advanced: $53 per month billed annually or $67 monthly for 15 brands, rising to $159 annually or $210 monthly for 50 brands. Adds unlimited team members, team and client management, roles, post approval, recurring posts, custom report templates, the Looker Studio connector and API access.
Free and Starter have no extra team members; unlimited team members start on Advanced. Add-ons: X costs $10 per month per connected account (paid plans only), and Advanced Analytics starts at $12 per month on Starter. Annual billing saves up to 24%. Metricool's pricing page does not mention a free trial of paid plans; the free plan is the way to try it, and if you cancel, your account goes back to Free.
Pros
- Generous free plan (1 brand, 20 posts a month, analytics)
- Brand-based pricing: one Starter plan covers up to 5 brands
- Analytics, competitor tracking and ads reporting stronger than most schedulers at this price
- Low cost per brand at scale: 50 brands for $159 per month (annual)
Cons
- X costs $10 per month per account extra
- LinkedIn not available on Free
- Team members, approvals, roles and API only on Advanced ($53 per month and up, annual)
- Some advanced analytics need a paid add-on
Who it's for
Metricool is the right pick if you want to know what is working, not just publish. One Starter subscription covers up to 5 brands, so a freelancer handling several small clients gets a lot for $20 to $25 a month. It is less of a bargain if you post heavily to X (each X account adds $10 a month) or if you need teammates or approvals, which start on Advanced.
SocialBee: Best for Evergreen Content Recycling
SocialBee is built around content categories. You sort posts into categories such as "blog posts", "tips" or "promotions", give each profile a posting schedule, and SocialBee fills the slots from those categories. Evergreen posts can go back into the queue automatically, and time-sensitive posts can be set to expire. Supported networks are Facebook (profiles, pages and groups), Instagram (business and personal), Threads, LinkedIn (profiles and pages), X, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Google Business Profile and Bluesky. For others, including WhatsApp, Telegram, Mastodon and Quora, SocialBee offers "universal posting" through mobile app reminders.
Key features for scheduling
- A category-based content library with evergreen recycling and content expiry.
- Posting schedules per profile, plus best-time suggestions.
- An AI Copilot that drafts a social strategy and ready-to-use posts, with unlimited AI captions and images.
- RSS imports, and a bulk editor and CSV uploads on Accelerate and above.
- An engagement inbox: comments, mentions and DMs for Facebook Pages and Instagram Business, comments and mentions for Threads, LinkedIn company pages and X, and comments for YouTube.
- Workspaces, roles, post approval and internal notes for teams.
Pricing
- Bootstrap: $29 per month or $290 per year. 5 social profiles, 1 workspace, 1 user, 10 content categories, 10 RSS sources and 3 months of analytics.
- Accelerate: $49 per month or $490 per year. 10 profiles, 1 workspace, 1 user, 50 categories, advanced analytics, bulk editor, CSV uploads and post approval.
- Pro: $99 per month or $990 per year. 25 profiles, 5 workspaces, 3 users per workspace, unlimited categories and exportable reports.
Add-ons: an extra user or workspace is $10 per month ($100 per year), and 5 extra profiles are $15 per month ($150 per year). Yearly billing is labelled 16% off. There is no free plan, but the 14-day free trial gives full Pro access without a credit card, and SocialBee has a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Pros
- The best content recycling and category scheduling in this group
- Clear flat plans with set profile counts
- Unlimited AI generation on every plan
- Agency tiers up to 150 profiles and 30 workspaces
Cons
- No free plan, only a 14-day trial
- Bootstrap and Accelerate include only 1 user and 1 workspace
- Post approval needs Accelerate ($49 per month) or higher
- Analytics on Bootstrap limited to 3 months of data
Who it's for
SocialBee suits a small business or solo marketer with a library of evergreen content: blog posts, product tips, testimonials, how-tos. Bootstrap's 5 profiles for $29 a month is fair for one person. It gets pricier for teams: Bootstrap and Accelerate include 1 user, Pro includes 3 per workspace, and extra users are sold as $10 a month add-ons in the app (the pricing page does not say which plans can buy them).
Later: Best for Instagram and TikTok Visual Planning
Later (its scheduling product is called Later Social) is a visual planner built around Instagram and TikTok. It prices by plan, and each plan includes a number of "social sets": one profile each of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads and Snapchat. X is not in Later's list of supported profiles.
Key features for scheduling
- A drag-and-drop visual planner across all networks.
- Scheduling to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads and Snapchat. Later lists auto publishing for Instagram (business and creator), TikTok, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
- A social inbox for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok conversations on Growth and up.
- Content approval and external comment workflows on Growth and up.
Pricing
- Starter: $25 per month, or $18.75 per month billed yearly. 1 social set (8 profiles), 1 user, 30 posts per profile per month, 5 AI credits and 3 months of analytics. No add-ons.
- Growth: $50 per month, or $37.50 billed yearly. 2 social sets, 2 users, 180 posts per profile per month, approvals, social inbox and a year of analytics.
- Scale: $110 per month, or $82.50 billed yearly. 6 social sets, 4 users, unlimited posts, 2 years of analytics and competitive benchmarking.
On Growth and Scale you can add a social set for $15 per month ($11.25 yearly) or a user for $5 per month ($3.75 yearly). Yearly billing saves 25%. There is a 14-day free trial and no free plan.
Pros
- Low flat price per plan, with several users included on Growth and Scale
- Visual, Instagram and TikTok first planning
- Social sets bundle one profile of each network, handy for brand or client grouping
- Brand mentions and competitor benchmarking on Scale
Cons
- No X (Twitter) support listed
- Starter caps posts at 30 per profile per month and has 1 user
- Inbox only covers Instagram, Facebook and TikTok conversations
- No free plan
Who it's for
Later fits creators and small brands whose audience lives on Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest and who think visually. Starter at $18.75 a month (billed yearly) is cheap for 8 networks, but 30 posts per profile per month is roughly one a day, so daily posters with Stories or several Reels a day will need Growth. If X matters to you, Later is out.
Loomly: Best for Teams That Need Approvals From Day One
Loomly, now owned by Bending Spoons, is a calendar-first tool built for teams that write, review and approve posts together. It has three tiers: Starter, Beyond and Enterprise. Loomly's listed integrations are Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile and Threads. X is not among them, so check with Loomly first if you need it.
Key features for scheduling
- Calendar-based planning with unlimited calendars and list, calendar and post views.
- Unlimited scheduling, recurring posts, bulk posting and best time to post.
- Approval workflows and roles, with Slack and Microsoft Teams notifications.
- An inbox for replying to comments and DMs, with saved replies, assignment and AI replies.
- Light social listening: 2 reports per month on Starter, 5 on Beyond.
Pricing
- Starter: $65 per month billed monthly, or $49 per month billed yearly ($588 per year). 12 social accounts, 3 users, unlimited calendars, approvals and roles, advanced analytics, inbox replies and exportable reports.
- Beyond: $332 per month billed monthly, or $249 per month billed yearly ($2,988 per year). 60 social accounts, unlimited users, custom branding, scheduled reports and calendar 2FA enforcement.
Yearly billing saves 25%, is charged upfront and cannot be ended early. There is a 7-day free trial with no credit card and no free plan.
Pros
- Collaboration and approvals included from the entry plan
- 12 accounts and 3 users on the entry plan
- Built-in light social listening and AI on both plans
- Unlimited users on Beyond
Cons
- No free plan and a short 7-day trial
- Big jump from Starter ($49) to Beyond ($249) with nothing in between
- Yearly plans cannot be cancelled early
- X is not in the listed integrations
Who it's for
Loomly is a good match for a small marketing team or agency where one person drafts and another approves. Starter gives you 12 accounts and 3 users for $49 a month billed yearly, with approvals included. For one person who just wants posts scheduled, it costs more than it needs to, and anyone who outgrows 12 accounts or 3 users faces a steep jump to Beyond.
Planoly: Best for Instagram-First Creators Who Sell
Planoly began in 2016 as a visual Instagram planner and now combines a Social Planner with a Creator Store for selling from your link in bio. It auto-publishes to Instagram (including Reels with original audio), TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest and Threads. X gets push-notification reminders only, as do Instagram posts that need native music.
Key features for scheduling
- A visual Instagram grid planner to preview and rearrange your feed before posting.
- A content calendar across channels with placeholders, drafts, holidays and weekly trends.
- Automated replies to comments and Instagram DMs on all paid plans.
- A link-in-bio storefront to sell digital products, services, bookings and merch, which Planoly says has zero transaction fees.
Pricing
Prices are per account, not per user, and each social set covers up to one of each channel (Instagram, Facebook, X, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads and TikTok).
- Free: mobile app only, 10 uploads per month.
- Starter: $16 per month, or $14 per month billed annually. 1 social set, 1 user, unlimited uploads. No add-ons.
- Growth: $28 per month, or $24 per month billed annually. 2 social sets, 2 users. Extra social sets $10 per month, extra users $5 per month.
- Pro: $55 per month, or $47 per month billed annually. 6 social sets, 6 users. Extra social sets $8 per month, extra users $3 per month.
Annual plans are billed upfront and save up to 15%. Every paid plan has a 14-day free trial, and you can cancel or switch at any time.
Pros
- Low price: $14 per month (annual) for a full social set
- The strongest Instagram grid planning in this group
- Link-in-bio store and DM automation on every paid plan
- Cheap extra users on Pro ($3 per month each)
Cons
- X cannot be auto-published, only reminders
- Free plan is mobile-only and limited to 10 uploads per month
- Starter cannot add users or social sets
- No social inbox, listening or approval workflow listed on the pricing page
Who it's for
Planoly is for creators and small brands who care how their Instagram grid looks and who sell products or services from their bio link. At $14 a month billed annually it is one of the cheapest paid options here. It is not the tool for X-heavy accounts, or for teams that need a sign-off step before posts go live.
What It Costs: Two Typical Setups
Below are two common setups, worked out from each vendor's published prices. "Monthly" means billed month to month; "yearly" means the per-month price when you pay for a year upfront. Where a tool cannot do part of the setup, we say so.
Setup 1: one person, 5 channels including X
A solo creator or small business owner posting to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and X.
| Tool | Plan | Math | Monthly billing | Yearly billing (per month) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Publer | Professional | 5 accounts x $4 | $20 | About 20% less |
| Buffer | Essentials | 5 channels x $6 (monthly) or x $5 (yearly) | $30 | $25 |
| Metricool | Starter + X add-on | $25 (or $20 annual) + $10 for one X account | $35 | $30 |
| SocialBee | Bootstrap | Flat, 5 profiles | $29 | $24.17 ($290/year) |
| Planoly | Starter | Flat, 1 social set | $16 | $14 |
| Later | Starter | Flat, 1 social set | $25 | $18.75 |
| Loomly | Starter | Flat, 12 accounts | $65 | $49 |
Notes: Planoly only sends reminders for X, so the X post is manual. Later does not list X at all, and Loomly does not list it as an integration, so those two cover the other four channels only. Later's Starter plan also caps you at 30 posts per profile per month. For full auto-publishing to all five networks, Publer is the cheapest option at $20 a month. Next come SocialBee ($29 monthly, $24.17 yearly) and Buffer ($30 monthly, $25 yearly).
Setup 2: a small team of 3, 5 channels including X, with approvals
The same five channels, but now three people post and one of them approves before anything goes out.
| Tool | Plan | Math | Monthly billing | Yearly billing (per month) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Publer | Professional | 5 accounts x $4 + 2 extra members x $2 | $24 | About 20% less |
| Buffer | Team | 5 channels x $12 (monthly) or x $10 (yearly); users unlimited | $60 | $50 |
| Later | Growth + 1 extra user | $50 + $5 (or $37.50 + $3.75 yearly); 2 users included | $55 | $41.25 |
| Loomly | Starter | Flat, 3 users included | $65 | $49 |
| Metricool | Advanced + X add-on | $67 (or $53 annual) + $10 for one X account | $77 | $63 |
| SocialBee | Pro | Flat, 3 users per workspace | $99 | $82.50 ($990/year) |
Notes: Publer's plan owner is included, so three people means two extra members. Approvals are on Publer Professional, Buffer Team, Later Growth, Loomly Starter, Metricool Advanced and SocialBee Accelerate and up. SocialBee's Accelerate plan ($49) has approvals but only 1 user, so we priced Pro, which includes 3 users. Later and Loomly would not cover X. Planoly is left out of this table because its pricing page does not list an approval workflow.
If you also want analytics and best posting times with Publer, the Business plan for the same team costs 5 x $7 + 2 x $3 = $41 per month on monthly billing. That is still less than Buffer Team or Metricool Advanced for this setup.
What the free plans cover
If you are not ready to pay, four tools have a free plan:
- Buffer: 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time, 1 user, 30 days of insights.
- Publer: 3 accounts (no X), 10 scheduled posts at a time per account, 25 drafts, 24 hours of post history.
- Metricool: 1 brand, all networks except LinkedIn and X, 20 scheduled posts per month, 30 days of analytics.
- Planoly: mobile app only, 10 uploads per month.
If you post to X, note that Publer's and Metricool's free plans exclude it and Planoly only sends reminders for it; Buffer's free plan lists no such exclusion. For analytics on a free plan, Metricool gives the most.
How to Choose
Start with three questions: how many channels, how many people, and do you post to X?
- You are on your own and want the lowest cost for full auto-publishing, X included: Publer Professional. If you want to start free, Buffer Free gives you 3 channels and does not exclude X the way Publer's and Metricool's free plans do.
- Your team will grow and you want one predictable bill per channel: Buffer Team. Users are unlimited, so adding people costs nothing.
- You care about reports, competitors and ads data as much as posting: Metricool. Budget $10 a month for each X account.
- You reshare the same evergreen content and want the queue to run itself: SocialBee, with category queues and recycling. Publer Business also recycles posts, with Spintax variations.
- You plan in bulk a month at a time: Publer (CSV on every paid plan) or SocialBee (CSV from Accelerate).
- Your audience is on Instagram and TikTok, not X: Later for a visual planner across 8 networks, or Planoly if you also sell from your bio link.
- Someone must approve every post: Publer Professional is the cheapest way to get approvals. Loomly Starter suits a team that wants approvals, an inbox and Slack or Teams notifications in one place.
Whichever you pick, use the trial or free plan to connect your real accounts first. Check that each network publishes automatically in the way you expect, especially Instagram personal profiles, Facebook groups and X, where several tools fall back to reminders.
Final Verdict
For most solo creators, small businesses and small teams who mainly want posts planned and published across networks at a fair price, Publer is the best choice. It has the lowest cost per account in this group, it includes X, approvals and bulk CSV scheduling on its cheapest paid plan, and its free plan covers 3 accounts. Budget for the Business plan if you want analytics and recycling.
Buffer is the best alternative if you want the simplest tool and pricing, a free plan for 3 channels, and a Team plan where users are unlimited. Metricool is the pick for analytics. SocialBee is the pick for evergreen recycling. Later and Planoly are the visual, Instagram-first options, and Loomly is built for teams that approve every post.
