Starting prices are the lowest paid plan, checked on each vendor's pricing page in October 2026. G2 ratings are shown only when we confirmed them.

ZoomInfo is one of the biggest names in B2B contact data. ZoomInfo says it has verified data on 500M+ contacts and 100M+ companies, and it wraps that data in intent signals, website visitor tracking, workflows and conversation intelligence. For many enterprise sales teams it is the default.

It is also a tool many teams look to replace, and the reasons are easy to see on ZoomInfo's own pricing pages: you cannot see a price without a sales call, paid plans are sold on annual terms with a minimum number of seats, every export uses a credit, and the product line keeps changing names. A five-person startup and a 500-person sales org go through the same quote process.

This guide covers seven alternatives and, for each one, how it differs from ZoomInfo on price, data, contract terms and features. All prices, plan names and limits come from each vendor's own website, checked in October 2026. Database sizes, accuracy figures and customer counts are the vendors' own claims. We have not run these tools ourselves; this is a comparison of what each vendor publishes.

Why Teams Leave ZoomInfo

ZoomInfo is a strong product, and its pricing page says over 30,000 customers use it. The reasons to look elsewhere are mostly about cost and commitment, not data quality.

  • No public pricing. ZoomInfo's pricing page lists packages but no prices. Its FAQ says price depends on the features you pick, the number of licenses and your credit usage. You need a sales call to get a number, and you cannot compare it with other tools until you have one.
  • Annual billing and seat minimums. A ZoomInfo-owned pricing guide (updated July 2026) says paid plans are billed annually, not monthly, and include a minimum number of seats. There is no month-to-month option to try the paid product for a few weeks.
  • Credits on every export. ZoomInfo's pricing FAQ says one credit is used each time you export a contact or company profile, whether from the platform, the ReachOut Chrome extension or an API or CRM integration. Syncing records to your CRM counts too.
  • Integrations can add cost. The same FAQ says pre-packaged integrations typically have a base cost and need a minimum purchase of bulk credits.
  • A small free plan. ZoomInfo Lite is free forever, but a ZoomInfo-owned page says it gives 10 credits a month, or 25 with Community Edition, which asks you to share your email or CRM contacts with ZoomInfo.
  • Cost for small teams. Because pricing is quote-based with seat minimums and annual terms, a small team cannot buy just one or two seats for a month. Several alternatives below start under $50 per seat per month with a published price.
  • Product changes. ZoomInfo launched GTM Workspace in October 2025. ZoomInfo's own site describes it as the successor to ZoomInfo Copilot, which is no longer a standalone product, yet the pricing page still lists packages called Copilot Advanced and Copilot Enterprise. The company also changed its Nasdaq ticker from ZI to GTM in May 2025, and G2 now lists the product as "GTM Workspace - Powered by ZoomInfo". None of this is bad in itself, but it makes it harder to know what you are buying and how this year's package compares with last year's.

A note on Clearbit

Clearbit used to be a common ZoomInfo alternative, especially for enrichment by API. It is no longer an option for new buyers. HubSpot bought Clearbit in December 2023, and Clearbit's help center says it is "no longer offering new standalone Clearbit subscriptions." Clearbit's free tools were shut down on April 30, 2025. Its data now lives inside HubSpot as data enrichment, which HubSpot calls Breeze Intelligence, and it needs a HubSpot account. If you already run on HubSpot, it is worth a look there. For everyone else, we included RocketReach in its place: it has public monthly and annual prices and API access on every paid plan, which is the closest match to how teams used Clearbit.

ZoomInfo

ZoomInfo sells a contact and company database (ZoomInfo says 500M+ contacts, 100M+ companies and 135M+ verified phone numbers) with search, export, mobile numbers and business emails on its Professional package. Copilot Advanced adds intent signals, website visitor identification, account fit scores, champion tracking and workflows. Copilot Enterprise adds real-time and custom intent, competitor alerts, advanced reporting, Copilot chat and a dedicated customer success manager. Marketing packages (Marketing Demand, ABM Lite, ABM Enterprise) are sold separately, and Chorus, ZoomInfo's conversation intelligence product, is part of the same platform. Streaming Intent is an add-on priced by keyword volume and account universe.

Pricing: No public prices. Every paid package goes through sales, billed annually with a minimum number of seats according to ZoomInfo's own guide. ZoomInfo Lite is free with 10 credits a month (25 with Community Edition), and a free trial, typically 7 days, is offered.

Compliance: ZoomInfo's homepage says it is GDPR and CCPA compliant and lists ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2 Type II, TRUSTe GDPR and TRUSTe CCPA certifications.

Keep ZoomInfo if you have a large team that uses intent data, website visitor tracking and workflows every day, you sell mainly into the US, and the annual contract fits your budget cycle.

Look elsewhere if you mainly need emails and phone numbers, you have fewer than ten reps, you want to pay monthly, or you want to compare prices before talking to sales.

Apollo.io

Apollo.io is the most direct self-serve alternative for small and mid-size teams. It pairs a B2B database (Apollo says 240M contacts and 30M companies) with the outreach tools ZoomInfo sells separately or leaves to integrations: email sequences, a dialer, meeting scheduling, call recording, email warmup and a deliverability suite.

How it differs from ZoomInfo: Apollo publishes its prices, sells monthly and annual plans, and has a real free plan. Instead of buying a data tool plus an outreach tool, many teams use Apollo for both. Its database is smaller by its own count (240M contacts against ZoomInfo's 500M+ claim), and its intent features are lighter: 1 intent topic on Free, 6 on Basic and 12 on Organization.

Key features:

  • Contact search with emails and phone numbers
  • Sequences on every plan, with unlimited sequences on paid plans
  • Chrome, Gmail and Salesforce extensions, even on Free
  • Waterfall enrichment and CRM enrichment on paid plans
  • Website visitor identification, AI research and AI lead scoring

Pricing: Free is $0 with 75 credits per seat per month. Basic is $49 per seat per month billed annually (30,000 credits per seat per year) or $65 billed monthly (2,500 credits per seat per month). Professional is $79 annually or $99 monthly (48,000 credits a year or 4,000 a month). Organization is $119 per seat per month, annual only, with a 3-seat minimum. Basic and Professional have a 14-day trial. An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8 credits. Credits do not roll over.

Pros: public prices with a monthly option, a real free plan, data and outreach in one tool, large credit allowances.

Cons: phone numbers cost 8 credits each, credits expire every billing cycle, Basic allows 1 mailbox per user and 250 emails a day, and everyone on an account must be on the same plan.

Best for: small and mid-size teams that want to leave ZoomInfo and drop a separate sequencing tool at the same time.

Skip it if: your team relies on deep intent data or mostly cold calls, since phone reveals use credits quickly.

Lusha

Lusha is a self-serve contact finder built around its Chrome extension, which works on LinkedIn, CRMs, Gmail and any website. Lusha says it has 515M+ contacts and 29M+ companies, with 132M contacts in the US.

How it differs from ZoomInfo: Lusha starts small. You can sign up for free, buy a single seat on a monthly plan, and stop when you want. ZoomInfo is built for teams on annual contracts; Lusha is built for a rep who needs a phone number now. Lusha also lists 26 buying signals and buyer intent topics, but its intent is simpler than ZoomInfo's Copilot packages.

Key features:

  • Chrome extension for emails and direct dials on LinkedIn and other sites
  • Bulk and CSV enrichment, API, webhooks and MCP access (CSV enrichment and API from Pro)
  • Buying signals and intent topics (5 on Starter, 25 on Scale)
  • Email sequences and call recording with AI insights
  • A long list of compliance certifications

Pricing: Free is $0 with 40 credits a month and 1 seat. Starter is $49.90 a month billed monthly (400 credits a month) or $37.45 a month billed yearly (4,800 credits a year), with 1 seat. Pro is $69.90 monthly or $52.45 yearly and lists 2 free seats. Premium is $399.90 monthly or $299.95 yearly and lists 5 free seats. Scale is custom. An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 5. On monthly plans, unused credits roll over up to twice the monthly limit; annual credits reset at year end.

Pros: low entry price, real free plan, quick extension, credit rollover on monthly plans, many certifications.

Cons: phone numbers cost 5 credits, credit allowances are small on lower plans, teams over 5 users must contact sales, and prices have changed several times in 2026 according to third-party trackers.

Best for: individual reps and small teams who need quick lookups without a contract.

Skip it if: you need intent data, website visitor tracking and workflows at the depth ZoomInfo offers.

Cognism

Cognism is the alternative built for teams selling into Europe. It sells phone-verified mobile numbers (it calls them Diamond Data) and screens numbers against Do Not Call and TPS lists in the US, UK, Australia, France, Germany and other countries.

How it differs from ZoomInfo: Cognism is the closest to ZoomInfo in how it sells: quote-only, through sales, with no free plan. The difference is focus. Cognism positions itself on European data and compliance and claims 90% coverage of Director-level and above contacts in Europe and the US (vendor claim). It also does not charge a second credit for a contact you have already revealed unless that person changes jobs, while ZoomInfo's FAQ says each export uses a credit.

Key features:

  • Phone-verified mobiles, with on-demand verification on Pro
  • DNC and TPS screening across many countries
  • Bombora intent data (up to 12 topics) on Pro
  • Hiring, funding and job change signals
  • Chrome extension, CRM enrichment, MCP and API access

Pricing: No public prices. Sales prospecting comes in two packages, Standard and Pro, each listed with 5 seats included. 1 credit reveals 1 contact, and extra credits can be bought. CRM Enrichment is an add-on or standalone product. Billing frequency and contract length are not published. Cognism offers a free data sample instead of a trial.

Pros: verified mobiles for cold calling, strong European coverage, no double charge for revealed contacts, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and SOC 2 Type II.

Cons: no public pricing, no free plan or self-serve trial, 5-seat packages are too big for one person, intent only on Pro.

Best for: teams of five or more selling into the UK and Europe who cold call.

Skip it if: you left ZoomInfo because of quote-only pricing. Cognism works the same way.

Seamless.AI

Seamless.AI combines contact search with outreach: AI-written emails with bulk sending and inbox warming, an AI dialer and an automated list builder called Autopilot. Seamless.AI says its AI searches the public web in real time to find and verify contact data. Its size claims differ by page (1.6B+ verified contacts on the homepage, 2.2B+ on product pages).

How it differs from ZoomInfo: Like ZoomInfo, Seamless.AI publishes no paid prices. Unlike ZoomInfo, it openly targets switchers: its pricing page advertises switch discounts of up to 50% of a competitor's remaining contract value, plus volume discounts, unlimited users on custom deals and no setup fees. It also refunds credits automatically for invalid emails.

Key features:

  • Prospector search for emails, direct dials and mobiles
  • Free Chrome extension for LinkedIn, company sites and search results
  • CRM Enrich, Job Changes and Buyer Intent
  • Emailing, calling and Autopilot list building
  • API, MCP server and apps for Claude and ChatGPT

Pricing: Free for up to 50 credits (the site does not say whether they refresh). Paid plans are quote-only; the pricing page is a contact form that asks how many contacts you need each month and your company size. The site does not publish credit costs per lookup type or contract terms.

Pros: free plan to test the data, automatic refunds for invalid emails, data and outreach in one tool, switch discount, GDPR, CCPA and SOC 2 Type II stated.

Cons: no public prices, small free plan, inconsistent database size claims, unpublished credit costs.

Best for: teams still inside a ZoomInfo contract who want to switch early and can negotiate.

Skip it if: you want to see a price and sign up without talking to anyone.

RocketReach

RocketReach is a self-serve lookup tool with public prices and an API on every paid plan. RocketReach says it covers 700M profiles and 60M companies worldwide and verifies data on demand with 98% accuracy (vendor claims).

How it differs from ZoomInfo: RocketReach is the opposite of ZoomInfo's buying model. You pick a plan on the pricing page, pay monthly or annually, and get API and MCP access from the cheapest plan. It has far fewer platform features: no website visitor tracking, and intent data only on its top Ultimate plan. It also refunds a lookup when no verified email or phone is found.

Key features:

  • Email and phone lookups (email only on Essentials)
  • Contact Data API and MCP access on every paid plan
  • Chrome extension on all paid plans
  • Sequences, AI email writer and Autopilot automations
  • Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft and Bullhorn integrations (Pro and up)

Pricing: A free account gets 5 lookups. Essentials (email only) is $69 a month billed monthly with 100 lookups, or $399 a year ($33 a month) with unlimited lookups and 1,200 exports a year. Pro (email and phone) is $119 monthly with 250 lookups, or $899 a year ($75 a month) with 3,600 exports. Ultimate is $209 monthly with 1,000 lookups, or $1,699 a year ($142 a month) with 20,000 exports and intent data. Prices are per seat. Custom team plans start at $6K a year. Annual "unlimited" lookups have a fair-use cap of 10,000 a month.

Pros: public prices with monthly and annual billing, API on every plan, unlimited lookups on annual plans, refunds when nothing is found.

Cons: monthly plans cost about double the annual rate, phone numbers need Pro or higher, annual plans cap exports, and we found no compliance statement on its main pages.

Best for: individuals and small teams who want global lookups and an API without a sales call.

Skip it if: you sell mostly into the EU and need documented GDPR processes and DNC screening.

UpLead

UpLead keeps prospecting data simple: one credit unlocks a contact's email and mobile direct dial, and emails are verified in real time when you export. UpLead says it has 200M+ leads and backs its data with a 95%+ accuracy guarantee, with refunds for bounces.

How it differs from ZoomInfo: UpLead publishes prices, sells monthly plans with no contract, and does not charge extra for a phone number. ZoomInfo is a full platform; UpLead is a contact database with filters, technographics and integrations. Intent data, the full API and bi-directional CRM sync are only on its custom Professional plan.

Key features:

  • 50+ search filters and real-time email verification
  • Email and mobile for one credit
  • Chrome extension on all plans, including the trial
  • Technographics (16K+ technologies, vendor claim) and company news
  • Integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho, Outreach, Salesloft and more

Pricing: Essentials is $99 a month billed monthly (170 credits a month) or $74 a month billed annually (2,040 credits a year). Plus is $199 monthly (400 credits a month) or $149 annually (4,800 a year). Professional is annual-only with a custom price. Each self-serve plan is for 1 user. Extra credits cost $0.60 on Essentials and $0.50 on Plus. There is a 7-day trial with 5 credits.

Pros: simple per-contact pricing, accuracy guarantee, no-contract monthly plans, wide integrations.

Cons: no free plan, single-user self-serve plans, low credit counts for the price, intent and API only on Professional, and we found no GDPR or SOC 2 statement on its homepage or pricing page.

Best for: small teams that want email and mobile without counting phone credits.

Skip it if: you need team management or intent data without going back to a sales-led custom plan.

Clay

Clay is not a database. It is a workflow tool that buys data from 150+ providers and runs them in a waterfall, trying one source after another until it finds a match. It adds Claygent, an AI research agent, plus signals like job changes and company news.

How it differs from ZoomInfo: ZoomInfo sells you its own database. Clay sells access to many data sources and lets you build your own enrichment logic. That can raise coverage, but it takes setup work, and there is no single "search and export" screen like ZoomInfo's. Every Clay plan has unlimited seats, so cost does not grow with headcount the way a per-seat contract does. Clay can also sit next to a cheaper contact tool to handle CRM enrichment, a job ZoomInfo often does through its integrations.

Key features:

  • Waterfall enrichment across 150+ providers on every plan
  • Claygent AI research agent
  • Job change, promotion, news and web intent signals (web intent on Growth)
  • CRM and data warehouse auto-sync on Growth and up
  • Clay Sequencer for sending email

Pricing: Clay bills two meters: Actions (platform work) and Data Credits (data and AI). Free is $0 with 500 actions and 100 data credits a month. Launch starts at $167 a month billed annually or $185 monthly, with 15,000 actions and 2,500 data credits a month. Growth starts at $446 a month annually or $495 monthly, with 40,000 actions and 6,000 data credits a month. Enterprise is custom with an annual commitment. You are not charged when a lookup finds nothing.

Pros: many data sources in one place, unlimited seats, real free plan, strong AI research and automation.

Cons: steep learning curve, two meters make cost hard to forecast, CRM sync only from Growth, no accuracy guarantee.

Best for: RevOps and growth teams with someone who can build and maintain workflows.

Skip it if: your reps just need to find a phone number and call.

Cost for a 5-Seat Team

ZoomInfo is quote-only, so we cannot put a number next to it. A ZoomInfo-owned guide says pricing depends on features, licenses and credits, with annual billing and a minimum seat count. Ask for a written quote for five seats with your expected export volume, CRM integration and any intent add-ons, then compare it with the list prices below.

These are list prices from each vendor's pricing page for five users for one year. They do not include taxes, add-ons or negotiated discounts.

Clay Growth, annual$446 x 12$5,352Unlimited seats, CRM sync, 72,000 data credits a year

A few things to keep in mind when reading this table:

  • Phone numbers change the math. On Apollo.io a phone number costs 8 credits, so 150,000 Basic credits cover up to 18,750 phone numbers. On Lusha a phone number costs 5 credits, so 40,800 Premium credits cover up to 8,160. UpLead includes the mobile in the same credit as the email. RocketReach Essentials has no phone numbers at all.
  • UpLead's self-serve plans are single user. The $4,440 figure is five separate Essentials subscriptions. UpLead's team management is on its custom Professional plan, so a five-person team may end up on a quote.
  • Lusha's seat counts. Lusha's pricing page lists "5 free seats" on Premium and says teams larger than 5 users must contact sales. Confirm the seat count at checkout.
  • RocketReach multi-seat. RocketReach says adding a seat saves 5%, so the real total may be a little lower than the list math.
  • Clay is not like for like. Clay's price does not grow with seats, but each enrichment uses actions and data credits from partners, so the cost depends on how many records you process.

For five people on annual billing, the published options run from about $2,000 to $5,400 a year at list price. That gives you a clear number to hold your ZoomInfo quote against.

Data Coverage by Region

ZoomInfo's main strength is US company data. If you sell outside the US, check coverage of your own target accounts before you switch.

  • Europe and UK: Cognism is built for this. It claims 90% coverage of Director-level and above contacts in Europe and the US and screens against DNC and TPS lists in several European countries.
  • US: ZoomInfo, Apollo.io, Lusha (which says it has 132M US contacts) and UpLead all focus heavily on US data.
  • Global: RocketReach claims 700M profiles and 60M companies worldwide. Clay combines 150+ providers, which can fill gaps a single database has.

Every coverage figure here is a vendor claim. Test with your own accounts (see How to Choose).

Phone Numbers vs Email

If your team cold calls, price each tool in phone numbers, not credits.

  • ZoomInfo: mobile numbers and business emails on Professional and up; each export uses a credit.
  • Apollo.io: email 1 credit, phone 8 credits.
  • Lusha: email 1 credit, phone 5 credits.
  • Cognism: 1 credit reveals a contact; Pro adds on-demand mobile verification.
  • UpLead: 1 credit unlocks both email and mobile.
  • RocketReach: phone numbers from Pro; lookups refunded when nothing verified is found.
  • Seamless.AI: emails, direct dials and mobiles; credit cost per type not published.
  • Clay: phone enrichment from Launch, through partner waterfalls.

Intent Data and Signals

This is where ZoomInfo is hardest to replace. Copilot Advanced and Enterprise include intent signals, website visitor identification, champion tracking and real-time or custom intent. If your team plans its week around those signals, check what each alternative offers:

  • Apollo.io: intent topics (1 on Free, 6 on Basic, 12 on Organization) and website visitor identification.
  • Lusha: 26 buying signals and intent topics (5 on Starter, 25 on Scale); de-anonymized IP lookups cost 2 credits.
  • Cognism: Bombora intent data on Pro, plus hiring, funding and job change signals.
  • Seamless.AI: Buyer Intent and Job Changes products.
  • RocketReach: intent data on Ultimate only.
  • UpLead: intent data on Professional only.
  • Clay: job change, news and social signals, with web intent on Growth.

None of these is a one-for-one match for ZoomInfo's intent stack. Before you decide, check how often your team actually acts on ZoomInfo intent and visitor signals.

Compliance and Data Privacy

What each vendor lists on its own site:

  • ZoomInfo: GDPR and CCPA compliant, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2 Type II, TRUSTe GDPR and CCPA.
  • Cognism: GDPR, CCPA (registered data broker), ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2 Type II, DNC and TPS screening.
  • Lusha: GDPR (ePrivacyseal) and CCPA (TrustArc), ISO 27001, 27701, 31700 and 42001, SOC 2 Type II.
  • Clay: SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001 and ISO 42001.
  • Seamless.AI: GDPR, CCPA and SOC 2 Type II.
  • Apollo.io: "GDPR Compliant" in the pricing page footer.
  • RocketReach and UpLead: no compliance statement found on their main pages; ask before you buy if this matters to you.

If you contact people in the EU or UK, look for documented GDPR processes and DNC screening, not just a badge.

Before You Cancel ZoomInfo

Switching data tools is easier if you plan around your contract. Most of this is general advice; check your own order form for the exact terms.

  • Find your renewal date and notice period. ZoomInfo's paid plans are billed annually. The term, renewal and notice terms are in your signed order form, so read it well before the renewal date and put the notice deadline in your calendar.
  • Cancel through the right channel. ZoomInfo's help center says to contact Customer Support or your account manager to request cancellation. Do it in writing and keep a copy.
  • Run the new tool in parallel. Start a free plan or trial of the alternative a couple of months before renewal and test it on your real target accounts.
  • Check what you can keep. ZoomInfo's help center says you can export contact and company data with the Export tool, depending on your subscription, and its pricing FAQ says each export uses a credit. Read your agreement for any rules about using ZoomInfo data after the subscription ends.
  • Map what ZoomInfo feeds. List every place ZoomInfo data flows: CRM enrichment, sequencing tools, routing rules, dashboards. Each one needs a new source before you switch off the integration.
  • Remember Chorus and other products. If you also use Chorus or ZoomInfo marketing packages, check whether they are on the same contract and what happens to recordings and data when it ends.
  • Ask about switch offers. Seamless.AI advertises a switch discount of up to 50% of a competitor's remaining contract value. Other vendors may negotiate too; it costs nothing to ask.

How to Choose

Start with why you are leaving ZoomInfo.

  • "It is too expensive for our small team." Apollo.io if you also want outreach built in; Lusha or RocketReach if you just need lookups; UpLead if your reps call a lot and want email and mobile in one credit.
  • "We want to pay monthly." Apollo.io, Lusha, RocketReach, UpLead and Clay all have monthly plans.
  • "We sell into Europe." Cognism, accepting that it is also quote-only.
  • "We want to switch before our contract ends." Ask Seamless.AI about its switch discount.
  • "We used ZoomInfo mainly to enrich our CRM." Clay for flexible enrichment, or RocketReach for API access on every plan. HubSpot users can also look at Breeze Intelligence, the former Clearbit.
  • "We rely on intent data every day." Stay with ZoomInfo or look at Cognism Pro (Bombora intent) and Apollo.io Organization. Compare on your own accounts.

Then test. Pick two or three tools, run the same list of 50 to 100 known accounts through each, and compare match rates, bounces and phone connect rates before you sign anything.

Conclusion

ZoomInfo is still one of the deepest B2B data platforms, but its quote-only, annual, seat-minimum model is a poor fit for many small and mid-size teams. Apollo.io is the best all-round alternative: public prices, a free plan, and data plus outreach in one tool. Cognism is the pick for Europe and cold calling, Lusha and RocketReach are the easiest self-serve options, UpLead keeps per-contact pricing simple, Seamless.AI courts ZoomInfo customers with a switch discount, and Clay suits teams that want to build their own enrichment. Whatever you choose, start testing before your ZoomInfo renewal date, not after.

Frequently asked questions

ZoomInfo does not publish prices. Its pricing page lists Professional, Copilot Advanced and Copilot Enterprise packages through sales, and a ZoomInfo-owned guide says paid plans are billed annually with a minimum number of seats. Price depends on features, licenses and credit usage. The free ZoomInfo Lite plan gives 10 credits a month according to ZoomInfo.
