The best MailerLite alternatives in 2026

Short answer: If you already pay, MailerLite Comfort is still one of the cheapest plans with real automation. If the new 250-subscriber free plan is too small, Kit (free to 10,000 subscribers) or Brevo (priced by sends) are the best ways out.

Why Look for MailerLite Alternatives?

On June 16, 2026, MailerLite changed its plans. Growing Business became Comfort, Advanced became Power, and prices and limits changed with the names. Existing paid accounts do not keep their old pricing: they move to Comfort or Power at their next renewal.

The bigger change hit the free plan. It used to allow 500 subscribers and 12,000 emails a month. It now allows 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month (seats went up from 1 to 2). If your list passes 250 active subscribers, sending locks until you upgrade.

That is why many free users are looking around. A list of 400 people that cost nothing in May now needs a paid plan. Paid users have a second reason: Comfort caps monthly sends at 10 times the top of your subscriber tier, so a weekly sender with a busy automation schedule can hit the cap.

To be fair, MailerLite is still good value once you pay. Comfort costs $19/month (monthly billing) at 1,000 subscribers. The question is whether another tool gives you more for your situation. This guide compares six alternatives on what matters after the change: free plan limits, cost at 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 contacts, automation on the entry plan, and extras like SMS and selling.

All prices are in USD, from each vendor's pricing page, checked in October 2026.

MailerLite review

MailerLite is an email marketing tool with a website builder. It covers campaigns, automation, forms, landing pages, websites, and selling digital products and paid newsletters.

Pricing

  • Free: 250 subscribers, 2,500 emails/month, 2 seats, 3 active automations (5 steps each), 1 website and 1 landing page, 3 forms. Email A/B testing is included. Sending locks above 250 active subscribers.
  • Comfort (formerly Growing Business), monthly / annual per month: 500 subscribers $12 / $10.80; 1,000 $19 / $17.10; 2,500 $33 / $29.70; 5,000 $49 / $44.10; 10,000 $89 / $80.10; 50,000 $319 / $287.10. Monthly emails are capped at 10x the top of your tier (10,000 emails at the 1,000 tier). 3 seats.
  • Power (formerly Advanced): 500 $25 / $22.50; 1,000 $39 / $35.10; 5,000 $69 / $62.10; 10,000 $129 / $116.10. Unlimited emails (fair use) and unlimited seats.
  • Enterprise: custom, above 200,000 subscribers.

Annual billing saves only 10%. Nonprofits get 30% off. Every new account gets a 14-day premium trial with no card.

Key features

  • Three email editors (drag-and-drop, simple, custom HTML) on every plan
  • Visual automation builder with ecommerce triggers: 3 automations on Free, 50 (100 steps) on Comfort, unlimited on Power
  • Websites, blogs and landing pages, including an AI landing page builder
  • Digital products, bookings and paid newsletters (paid newsletters on Comfort and Power)
  • Multivariate testing, dynamic content, RSS campaigns and auto-resend on Comfort
  • Two-way Shopify subscriber sync (added August 27, 2026) and 100+ integrations

Pros

  • Comfort is cheap for what it includes: 50 automations, 10 sites or landing pages, and paid newsletters for $19/month at 1,000 subscribers.
  • The 14-day trial needs no card and deletes nothing when it ends.
  • Power removes the send cap and seat limit for $39/month at 1,000 subscribers.

Cons

  • The free plan is now small: 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month.
  • Comfort's send cap (10x your tier) can bite weekly senders with automations.
  • Transactional email and SMS run through MailerSend, a separate product with separate pricing.
  • Subscriber counts are cumulative within a billing cycle: deleted subscribers count until the next billing date.

Who should use it

Anyone already paying who sends a few emails a week. For most small businesses, Comfort is still cheaper than the alternatives that offer the same automation depth.

Who should avoid it

Free users with more than 250 subscribers who do not want to pay yet, and anyone who needs SMS in the same account.

Mailchimp review

Mailchimp is the best-known email platform for small businesses. It offers email, SMS, automation flows, landing pages and ecommerce integrations, priced by contacts.

Pricing

  • Free: 250 contacts, 500 emails/month (250 per day), 1 seat. No A/B testing, no scheduling, Mailchimp branding.
  • Essentials, monthly: 500 contacts $13; 1,500 $26.50; 2,500 $45; 5,000 $75; 10,000 $110; 50,000 $385. Sends are 10x contacts. 3 seats. Automation flows are limited to 4 steps.
  • Standard, monthly: 500 $20; 1,500 $45; 5,000 $100; 10,000 $135; 50,000 $450. Sends are 12x contacts. Up to 200 flows with branching.
  • Premium: from $350/month at 10,000 contacts.

Mailchimp lists monthly prices. Accounts with 10,000+ contacts get 15% off for the first 12 months. Annual plans are only available through Sales. Essentials and Standard have a 14-day trial, but it needs a card. Note that the published contact tiers jump from 500 to 1,500, so a 1,000-contact list pays the 1,500 price.

Key features

  • Customer Journey builder with branching and multiple starting points (Standard and up)
  • SMS add-on from $20/month for 1,000 credits (credits expire monthly, approval required)
  • Transactional email add-on on Standard and Premium
  • Send time optimization, dynamic content and generative AI (Standard and up)
  • 300+ integrations, including official Shopify and WooCommerce apps

Pros

  • The largest integration catalog in this comparison.
  • Email, SMS and transactional email can live in one account.
  • Standard's flows (branching, multiple starts) are deeper than MailerLite Comfort's.

Cons

  • The free plan is weaker than MailerLite's new one: same 250 contacts, but 500 emails a month.
  • Essentials' 4-step flow limit is tight.
  • It is the most expensive option here at 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 contacts.
  • Overage charges apply when you pass your limits on a paid plan.

Who should use it

Businesses that depend on a specific integration, or teams who want SMS and transactional email from one vendor and can afford Standard.

Who should avoid it

Anyone leaving MailerLite to save money. Mailchimp will cost more, not less.

Brevo review

Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) is a marketing and CRM platform with email, SMS, WhatsApp, push and transactional messaging. It prices by monthly email volume, not by contacts.

Pricing

  • Free: 300 emails a day, up to 100,000 stored contacts, 1 seat, automation for up to 2,000 contacts, Brevo logo on emails.
  • Starter, monthly: 5,000 emails $9; 10,000 $17; 20,000 $32; 50,000 $56; 100,000 $82.
  • Standard, monthly: 5,000 emails $18; 10,000 $35; 20,000 $69; 50,000 $97; 100,000 $139. Unlimited automation, A/B testing, no Brevo logo, up to 3 seats.
  • Professional: from $499/month (150,000 emails).

Yearly billing is 10% off. The tier also sets how many contacts you can store: 500 at 5,000 emails, 1,500 at 10,000, 2,500 at 15,000, and up to 500,000 from 20,000 emails. Pass the contact cap on a low tier and Brevo upgrades you.

Key features

  • Automation workflows across email and SMS (unlimited contacts from Standard)
  • Transactional email and SMS through API or SMTP on every plan
  • Abandoned cart recovery on all plans; back-in-stock alerts from Starter
  • Built-in sales CRM, live chat, and web and mobile push
  • SMS credits sold in packs, from $0.0109 per credit in the US

Pros

  • The free plan stores far more contacts than any other free plan here.
  • Volume pricing rewards large lists that you email rarely.
  • Transactional email and SMS are part of the platform.
  • Standard is cheap for unlimited automation: $35/month at 10,000 emails.

Cons

  • Automation on Free and Starter only covers 2,000 contacts.
  • The 300 emails/day free limit makes a single newsletter to 1,000 people take four days.
  • Logo removal on Starter is an add-on, and Brevo's pages list two different prices for it.
  • Monthly email credits do not roll over.

Who should use it

Businesses with a big list and a monthly or twice-monthly newsletter, and anyone who needs SMS or transactional email in the same tool.

Who should avoid it

Frequent senders. If you email 10,000 contacts every week, you need the 50,000-email tier, and the per-contact savings shrink.

Kit review

Kit is the creator-focused platform formerly called ConvertKit. It handles newsletters, landing pages, forms, automations and selling digital products, plus a recommendations network and sponsorships.

Pricing

  • Free: up to 10,000 subscribers, 1 user, unlimited landing pages, forms and broadcasts, tagging, digital products and paid newsletters, 2-subject-line A/B tests. No visual automations and no email sequences.
  • Creator, monthly: 1,000 subscribers $39; 3,000 $59; 5,000 $89; 10,000 $139; 25,000 $199. 2 users.
  • Pro, monthly: 1,000 $79; 3,000 $99; 5,000 $139; 10,000 $189; 25,000 $279. Unlimited users.

Annual billing costs 10x the monthly price, so Creator at 1,000 subscribers is $390/year ($33/month). Until November 7, 2026, Kit offers 25% off the first year of annual Pro for lists up to 65,000, renewing at the standard annual rate. Sales on any plan cost 3.5% + 30c each. Creator and Pro have a 14-day trial with no card.

Key features

  • Visual automations and email sequences (Creator and Pro)
  • Free recommendations on all plans; paid recommendations on Creator and up
  • Newsletter sponsorships, where Kit matches you with brands
  • Digital products, paid newsletters and tip jars
  • Abandoned checkout for Shopify, Fourthwall and Wix (Creator and up)

Pros

  • The free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers.
  • Recommendations and sponsorships help creators grow and earn.
  • Free migration on paid plans makes the move from MailerLite easier.

Cons

  • No automations on Free, which is a step down from MailerLite's 3 free automations.
  • Creator is about twice MailerLite Comfort's price at 1,000 subscribers.
  • Creator is limited to 2 users.

Who should use it

Creators who send broadcasts and want to stay free while they grow, or who will use recommendations and sponsorships.

Who should avoid it

Small businesses that rely on automated sequences and want the lowest price. Creator at $39/month is a big jump from Comfort's $19.

GetResponse review

GetResponse is an email marketing and automation platform that also includes landing pages, webinars, a website builder and a course creator.

Pricing

  • Free: 500 contacts (unconfirmed and removed contacts count), 2,500 messages a month, GetResponse badge, no A/B tests.
  • Starter, monthly / annual per month: 1,000 contacts $19 / $15.58; 2,500 $29 / $23.78; 5,000 $54 / $44.28; 10,000 $79 / $64.78. 1 automation workflow, no A/B testing.
  • Marketer: 1,000 $59 / $48.38; 5,000 $95 / $77.90; 10,000 $114 / $93.48. Unlimited workflows, A/B tests, abandoned cart.
  • Creator: 1,000 $69 / $56.58; 5,000 $109 / $89.38; 10,000 $134 / $109.88. Adds webinars (100 attendees), courses and premium newsletters.
  • Enterprise: custom, with SMS and transactional email.

Annual billing saves 18%. All paid plans have unlimited sends. New Free accounts get 14 days of premium features.

Key features

  • Unlimited email sends on paid plans
  • Visual automation workflows (unlimited from Marketer)
  • Webinars, including paid webinars, and a course creator (Creator plan)
  • Ecommerce tools: abandoned cart, product recommendations, promo codes
  • 170+ integrations and a free MCP connection for AI tools (October 2026)

Pros

  • Free plan holds 500 contacts, double MailerLite's.
  • Unlimited sends remove the cap worry Comfort users have.
  • Webinars and courses in one account can replace two other tools.
  • The 18% annual discount beats MailerLite's 10%.

Cons

  • Starter's single workflow makes it closer to a newsletter tool.
  • Comparable automation to Comfort costs $59/month (Marketer, 1,000 contacts, monthly).
  • SMS and transactional email are Enterprise only.

Who should use it

Coaches and course sellers who run webinars, and businesses that send often enough to worry about send caps.

Who should avoid it

Budget users who need several automations. Marketer costs about three times Comfort at 1,000 contacts.

Flodesk review

Flodesk is a design-focused email tool for creators and small businesses, with forms, landing pages, link in bio, workflows and a built-in checkout.

Pricing

Flodesk retired its flat-rate unlimited plan for new members on December 2, 2025. Plans now scale by subscribers (monthly / annual per month):

  • Lite: 1,000 $25 / $19; 2,500 $32 / $29; 5,000 $52 / $48; 10,000 $72 / $66; 25,000 $162 / $149 (maximum). 1 seat, 1 workflow.
  • Pro: 1,000 $28 / $25; 5,000 $59 / $54; 10,000 $79 / $72; 50,000 $329 / $302. Unlimited workflows, 2 seats.
  • Everything: 1,000 $54 / $49; 5,000 $107 / $99; 10,000 $137 / $126. Unlimited checkouts, subscriptions, abandoned cart, 3 seats.

All paid plans have unlimited sends. There is a Free plan with forms, landing pages and link in bio, but it does not include email sending, so you need a paid plan to send. A free trial of paid features needs no card; its length is not stated.

Key features

  • Designer templates, custom fonts and layouts
  • Visual workflows with send time optimizer and resend to unopens
  • Flodesk Checkout: sales pages, upsells, subscriptions, payment plans
  • Abandoned cart automations (Everything)
  • Forms, landing pages and link-in-bio pages

Pros

  • The strongest design focus in this list.
  • Unlimited sends on every paid plan.
  • Pro gives unlimited workflows for only $9 more than MailerLite Comfort at 1,000 subscribers (monthly).
  • Checkout adds no Flodesk fee on top of Stripe.

Cons

  • Lite's single workflow is limiting.
  • No SMS is mentioned on the pricing page.
  • Checkout only works for businesses in certain countries (US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Euro Area).

Who should use it

Creators and lifestyle brands for whom email design is part of the brand.

Who should avoid it

Anyone who needs a free sending plan or detailed ecommerce automation on a budget.

Moosend review

Moosend is a budget email and automation tool, now a Constant Contact company. It has one main plan, Pro, priced by subscribers.

Pricing

  • Pro, monthly / biannual / annual per month: 500 subscribers $9 / $8 / $7; 1,000 $16 / $14 / $13; 2,000 $24 / $20 / $19; 5,000 $48 / $41 / $38; 10,000 $88 / $75 / $70; 50,000 $315 / $268 / $252.
  • Moosend+ and Enterprise: custom quotes, with add-ons like transactional email and dedicated IPs.
  • Pay as you go: $350 for 350,000 email credits that never expire.

There is no free plan. The 30-day trial needs no card and allows up to 1,000 contacts. Nonprofits get 25% off, and that stacks with the 20% annual discount.

Key features

  • Automation builder with recipes, including abandoned cart
  • Triggers on page views, product views and cart additions
  • A/B testing, email heatmaps and real-time reporting
  • Landing pages and subscription forms
  • AI product recommendations

Pros

  • The cheapest paid plan in this list at 1,000 subscribers.
  • Automation, A/B tests and landing pages are all on the base plan.
  • Unlimited sends and 5 team members.
  • Annual billing saves 20%.

Cons

  • No free plan.
  • No SMS channel mentioned on the pricing page.
  • Native ecommerce integrations listed are WooCommerce, Magento and OpenCart; no Shopify app was found.

Who should use it

Small businesses and WooCommerce stores that want full automation at the lowest monthly cost.

Who should avoid it

Anyone who wants to stay on a free plan, or Shopify stores.

Head-to-Head: Free Plans After MailerLite's Change

If you are leaving because of the smaller free plan, this is the table that matters.

ToolFree plan limitAutomation on freeCatch
MailerLite250 subscribers, 2,500 emails/month3 automations (5 steps)Sending locks above 250
Mailchimp250 contacts, 500 emails/monthNo (free preview only)Lowest send limit

GetResponse500 contacts, 2,500 messages/monthNo custom workflows listedBadge on every message
FlodeskForms and pages, no subscriber limitNo workflowsNo email sending
MoosendNone (30-day trial)Trial onlyMust pay after 30 days

For a creator with 2,000 subscribers who sends one newsletter a week, Kit Free is the only plan here that covers it at $0. For a business with 5,000 contacts that emails once a month, Brevo Free works if you can spread sends over several days at 300 a day. For a small list under 500 that needs a welcome series, MailerLite Free still has the best free automation, as long as you stay under 250, or GetResponse Free if you can live without custom workflows.

Head-to-Head: Cost at 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 Contacts

Monthly billing, cheapest plan that includes multi-step automation. Annual prices in brackets where the vendor lists them.

ToolPlan1,0005,00010,000
MailerLiteComfort$19 ($17.10)$49 ($44.10)$89 ($80.10)
MailchimpStandard$45 (1,500 tier)$100$135
BrevoStandard$35$69$97
KitCreator$39 ($33)$89$139
GetResponseMarketer$59 ($48.38)$95 ($77.90)$114 ($93.48)
FlodeskPro$28 ($25)$59 ($54)$79 ($72)
MoosendPro$16 ($13)$48 ($38)$88 ($70)

How we picked the Brevo tier: Brevo charges by emails sent, so we assumed about four emails a month to every contact. That is the 10,000-email tier at 1,000 contacts (it stores up to 1,500), 20,000 at 5,000, and 50,000 at 10,000. Send less and Brevo gets cheaper.

Mailchimp Essentials and Brevo Starter are cheaper than the plans in the table ($26.50 and $17 at 1,000), but Essentials limits flows to 4 steps and Starter limits automation to 2,000 contacts. GetResponse Starter ($19 at 1,000) has only one workflow.

What the numbers say:

  • Moosend is the cheapest at 1,000 and 5,000 contacts, and roughly ties MailerLite at 10,000.
  • MailerLite Comfort stays second cheapest at small sizes. At 10,000 contacts it is $89, against $79 for Flodesk Pro.
  • Flodesk Pro becomes very competitive at 10,000 contacts, with unlimited sends and workflows.
  • Mailchimp Standard is the most expensive at every size shown.

Head-to-Head: Automation on the Entry Plan

Many people pick a tool by its starting price, then find automation locked a plan higher.

  • MailerLite Comfort: 50 active automations, up to 100 steps each. Power makes them unlimited and adds multiple triggers.
  • Mailchimp Essentials: flows limited to 4 steps. Standard allows up to 200 flows with branching.
  • Brevo Starter: automation for up to 2,000 contacts. Standard is unlimited.
  • Kit Creator: unlimited visual automations and sequences. Nothing on Free.
  • GetResponse Starter: 1 custom workflow plus a welcome series. Marketer is unlimited.
  • Flodesk Lite: 1 workflow. Pro and Everything are unlimited.
  • Moosend Pro: full workflow builder with recipes on the only self-serve plan.

If automation is the reason you use email, MailerLite Comfort, Kit Creator and Moosend Pro give you the most on their first paid plan.

Head-to-Head: SMS, Transactional Email and Selling

MailerLite does not include SMS or transactional email. Both run through MailerSend, a separate product. Here is how the others compare:

MoosendNot mentionedMoosend+ add-onNot a focus

Brevo is the clear choice if you need email, SMS and transactional email from one bill. Kit, GetResponse and Flodesk suit people who sell digital products.

How to Choose: Decision Framework

  1. Are you on MailerLite Free with more than 250 subscribers? If you only send newsletters, move to Kit Free (up to 10,000). If you need automations and can pay, MailerLite Comfort at $19/month (1,000 subscribers, monthly) is hard to beat, and Moosend is $16.
  2. Do you have a big list you email rarely? Brevo's volume pricing will usually be cheapest, and its free plan stores up to 100,000 contacts.
  3. Do you hit Comfort's send cap? Look at tools with unlimited sends: Moosend, GetResponse, Flodesk, or MailerLite Power.
  4. Do you need SMS or transactional email? Brevo includes both. Mailchimp sells both as add-ons.
  5. Do you sell courses or run webinars? GetResponse Creator has both built in.
  6. Does design matter most? Flodesk.
  7. Do you depend on a specific integration? Check Mailchimp's 300+ first.

Before you switch, export your subscribers with tags and groups, list your automations, and rebuild them during the new tool's trial. Most of the tools here offer a trial with no card: MailerLite, Brevo (free plan), Kit, GetResponse, Flodesk and Moosend. Mailchimp's trial needs a card.

The Verdict: Final Recommendations

  • Paying MailerLite users: stay unless you hit a limit. Comfort is still one of the best value plans for real automation.
  • Free users over 250 subscribers who send newsletters: Kit Free.
  • Large lists, infrequent sends, or SMS needs: Brevo.
  • Lowest cost with full automation: Moosend, if you can live without a free plan.
  • Course creators and webinar hosts: GetResponse Creator.
  • Design-led brands: Flodesk Pro.
  • Integration-heavy setups: Mailchimp Standard, if the budget allows.

Conclusion

MailerLite's June 2026 change made its free plan much smaller, and it moved paying customers to new Comfort and Power prices at renewal. For paying users, it is still a strong, low-cost tool. For free users, the 250-subscriber limit is the real push to look around.

The good news is that the alternatives are clear. Kit gives creators a free plan up to 10,000 subscribers. Brevo gives large lists a cheap path priced by sends. Moosend gives full automation for less. Start with your list size and how often you send, compare the cost table above, and try your top two choices before you move your list.

Frequently asked questions

On June 16, 2026, MailerLite renamed Growing Business to Comfort and Advanced to Power, with new prices and limits. The free plan dropped from 500 subscribers and 12,000 emails a month to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails, while seats went from 1 to 2. Existing paid accounts move to Comfort or Power at their next renewal.
